Low limit stud and Omaha in Vegas

Where are the best places to find good low limit stud and Omaha high-low games in Vegas? I know sites like all Vegas poker.com will say that a lot of places offer them, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll actually be spread. Also, I know 1-5 stud at the Mirage is frequently played without an ante, making it incredibly stupid.

Bad news about Las Vegas stud

5-10 and 10-20 games don't go anymore at the Mirage. The 15-30 game goes at the Bellagio.

Re: Low limit stud and Omaha in Vegas

You should check out the latest updates on allvegaspoker.com just below the old "games offered" information is a brand new section that shows what games are often spread, regularly, occasional, and buy ins for NL/PL games.

As for stud 1-5 only at the Mirage, 15/30 and up at bellagio.

Omaha Hi low: Palace Station, Orleans, Sunset Station, Mirage (all small stakes)

Stud is so very very dead. Mirage is the only hope I know of for 1-5 stud. Not sure how much hope there is of that anymore, either. Larger limits are at Bellagio.

Mirage 5/10 and Orleans 4/8 are the only hope I know of for Omaha8 (on/near the strip, anyway). Larger limits at Bellagio and Wynn.

I played 2/10 spread limit stud in Caesars this summer, but the game never had more than 6 players. They tried to get a 3/6 O8 game going also, but the list wasn't big enough. Nothing to get excited about, but at least they tried.

Re: Low limit stud and Omaha in Vegas

For Omaha hi/low I have played at the Orleans 4/8 with a half kill, Mirage 5/10 with a full kill, and Wynn 6/12 with a kill. Games at Orleans and Mirage usually are going. Orleans was populated by mostly grumpy old nits, though not necessarily good players. When I played in the Mirage game on a weekday it was a rock garden populated only by nut-peddaling regulars. However I played it a couple of busy weekend nights when it was great. I only played the Wynn game once, and it was hard to get the game started and played short for much of the time. My understanding is that they regularly spread a 10/20 game now.

Omaha High 4/8 with half kill goes all the time at Boulder Station
1-5 Stud High goes frequently at Venetian

As others have said, AVP has some updated info as well.

would you give us a little more info? I hate to ask if it is a "good" because "good" is very subjective. I asked someone once if a game was good and he said "It is a great game, the best players here all play it, but all you have to do is raise preflop and you get the blinds almost everytime!" Not quite my definition of a "good" game.

Do you have any details? Like is it the same group everyday, etc.? I assume the average age is like 90 and they complain constantly but that is just the nature O/8.

"V" has a 6/12 half kill hi/lo that goes everyday.
Soft game and younger crowed (under 90) playing this one.

It's not there anymore. The stud regulars in town have told people they got "thrown out" of the V because the comps going out were more than the rake coming in. The game's at the Mirage now.

This game can be nerve-racking. It basically goes "Minimum 6+ people see flop, all stay for the turn no matter the cost, majority stay for the river no matter the cost (but still minimum 4+ people in the pot, easy), first person betting river wins as all the missed miracle-hunters/draws fold."

Basically, in this game you have to hit the flop hard and just bet it all the way. HUGE pots and swings. Last time I played I won my first hand and was instantly up $150.

Benefits to playing the 1-3 stud game at the el cortez.

1) If you are a college student you will immediatly find your american history knowledge from 1918-2006 double in one day.

2) Gain an appreciation of "The Clean Air Act"

3) Learn the proper way to cut a cigar.

4) Make friends with the casino owner who might let you play pan with him.

5) It's a truly life changing experience

Negatives

4 dollar rake on a 1 dollar pot (snicker)
You might be a tough guy but 9 80 year old men with cane's will win in the end.

Didn't the Excalibur get a 1-5 game? I remember playing there 2 years ago and they had multiple games.

Re: Low limit stud and Omaha in Vegas

Excal doesn't get Stud going any more.

El Cortez has a $2.50 rake, lowest in town, last time I checked (within the last year). Has it gone up?

Didn't realize stud left Venetian. Can't blame them for killing that game. It always looked pretty miserable over there, especially with the rolls of quarters some locals brought for tips.

How about the 2/4 stud game at Sam's Town?

They had two tables going on a Saturday afternoon 2 years ago, but no player under 70. Did the game die off?

Also, Binion's still has 4/8 Omaha, don't they?

"Do they play with an ante al El Cortez?".

No.

FWIW, I just called (EL Cortez) and was told they are lucky if they get one stud game a week and that's on Saturday mornings mostly.

Best of Luck

the el cortez is the greatest f*cking casino in the history of anything ever

single deck hand dealt black that pays 3:2, $2 craps with 10x odds, and floormen that chain smoke and curse while they play 1-3-6 holdem on the clock

Don't worry, I believe you can evolve. I started out thinking Swisher Sweets were good because they were predrilled. After I learned that predrilled cigars suck, I just bit the end of the cigar off.

Cliff Notes:
Nothing wrong with a punch cut but it isn't the stone cold nuts.

I don't smoke bad cigars, I just punch em cuz it's easier to carry a punch on the keychain...
