Too risky?
He's rolexxx gangsta, I can't figure out his stats since I played HU with him before but I think he's like 25/20 or so. Decent regular, probably a solid winner but not great. Anyways I'm almost sure that IF he's bluffing the turn, he will continue the bluff on the river. So...
Party Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $5/$10 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $930 UTG+1: $1033.75 CO: $1975.50 Button: $1187 SB: $1365.50 Hero: $2877 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is BB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, SB calls, Hero checks. Flop: ($30) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 checks. Turn: ($30) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero bets $24, UTG+1 raises to $89, SB folds, Hero calls. River: ($208) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $204, Hero raises to $558.48 Also anyone think I can fold out a straight here? |
Re: Too risky?
Don't bluff at limped pots, you'll thanks me later.

Re: Too risky?
Looks fine but I'd raise to at least $604.

Re: Too risky?
I'm not certain at all, I said IF he's bluffing he will continue, nothing more.
|
Re: Too risky?
I'm bad at reading posts. That is all.
|
Re: Too risky?
uh, did u get the suits wrong? is that a 6d???
if not, someone tell me how this isn't a gross spew. |
Re: Too risky?
Yeah, this is far too risky. In limped pots, there's no telling what people play. Just give up the 30 bux and fold.
|
Re: Too risky?
Yeah, this hand is pretty ridiculous. I would not be surprised at all if he showed a full house or quads.
|
Re: Too risky?
rolexxx is very aggressive and is pretty crazy but hes good, i have played HU with him as well, i personally dont like this move, but i think u can get him to fold somemthing pretty good, a straight, i kinda doubt it, a weak 4 i think u can get him to fold
lol yeah and why bluff at this, if that was the 6d that would be different, but..... |
Re: Too risky?
oh my god this is soooooo bad. I am laughing real hard at this. IF he folds any kind of hand its a really bad one.
|
Re: Too risky?
This seems like one of those hands where you need 10$ to break even on the day, and you're just thinking "god damnit I'm winning this next pot no matter what."
|
Re: Too risky?
Fair enough, but why don't you think he lays down trips?

Re: Too risky?
Ummm regardless of the risk-to-reward, tell me why I'm not repping a strong hand? Do you never c/r a good player who will bet this flop almost always?
|
Re: Too risky?
Hero heard Doyle say on TV that he doesn't need cards to win, he plays the players not the cards, so he was giving it a shot.

Re: Too risky?
All sarcasm aside, the funny thing about NL is that you can always convince yourself that there's no such thing as a "bad" play. Only a "shot" that doesn't work out. You called a double-pot-sized raise with a gutshot straight on a paired board. Just so you chould check-raise it away from the guy on the river??!?
It seems that most ppl in this thread are telling you that it's a spew. Take that for whatever you think it's worth. I'm beginning to think this was not a serious post. |
Re: Too risky?
No it could easily be a spew, that's why I'm running it by you guys. Basically I think he almost always bets the river, so essentially this is just a more costly (but with greater reward) rebluff, and I thought it was a better bluff line than a turn 3-bet.
|
Re: Too risky?
well in that case i just can't understand why u would think hes gonna be bluffing this turn v often. i would fold to the turn rz, but i guess if you really think hes bluffing then this line is pretty hot as opposed to a turn 3-bet. but, as i said before i would fold turn and to be honest i wouldn't even have bet out to begin with.

its a brilliant move

Re: Too risky?
results?
|
Re: Too risky?
He instacalled with the straight (57). You guys are probably right, if I think he's getting out of line I should just call down light in this spot rather than rebluff. That flop check/turn raise just represents such a small range that I didn't want to believe him, ah well.

Re: Too risky?
Bet the flop.
Friggin INSTAFOLD the turn. Doing anything else is pure spew. |
Re: Too risky?
Dear Requin,
This is a huge spew. Yours truly, Captain SpewMonkey. |
Re: Too risky?
this is very bad.
