I like it wth the Ac but without it I fold.

Re: Gamble?

With an overbet of this size, there is too much chance that:
A) You are against a set that is shoving to protect (or top two with 97s, etc) which severely devalues your hand
B) You are facing AcXc, which would be a death knell against your hand.

Add in the fact that you have little invested, and this turns into a fold.

Put me down for a fold, people don't do this with draws too often.

Call if your rolled and want a loose image. Vs a normal range your not in THAT bad shape.

Re: Gamble?

This is a set or top-2 very very often. 10/8 clubs is also a real possibility...Run it threw pokerstove...

definitely call, huge mondo overshove is more often something loco than a set/top2. and we're in great shape against any other FD/combodraw.

also, gamboooooooool!

Board: 9c 7s 3c

Hand 1: { Kc7c }
Hand 2: { TT-99, 77, 33, 9c8c, 8c6c, 5c4c, 97o }
equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 44.0643 % 44.06% 00.01%
Hand 2: 55.9357 % 55.93% 00.01%

I think you can profitably call if you are getting paid at least 3:2 or better. You can't rely on MP to call. So, if MP folds, you'll need to win 600 or more to call 400 on the push. In this case, there is $46 in the pot + $400 raise, so you'll win only $460. That isn't quite 1:1, but almost.

So, fold - unless you put villain on a much wider range of hands including a fairly large number of bluffs. In that case, you might have to rethink, but folding is still probably best.

if he shoves big draws with any frequency then you have to call...

Also, even if slightly -EV, it Meta Game considerations might swing it the other way... Throw in the possiblity of monkey-spew if you crack his set, I think this is 50/50 at worst.. Flip a coin, cause I's not too shabby either way..

Call quickly.

Outdraw.

Rinse with soap and water.

Profit from sweet image.

Repeat.

Re: Gamble?

hmmm you're only getting 460:400 on a probable coinflip. I guess there's some slight EV but probably not worth the gamble.

He could have a higher club draw in which case you're currently leading but he probably has some overs too, which would still be a coinflip.

It would be an ideal situation if he had something like Tc8c but even still a fold is probably best overall.

the fact that hero doesn't have Ac should motivate you to call, if he did have Ac, then u might wanna fold.

He had 106 of clubs and I won with a pair of sevens.

Re: Gamble?

call cuz we own other draws and we're decent against other one pair hands and live against sets (which are by far the least likely). gc nh
