You chased and hit your card. You can't even think folding here. If he has 8c6c or 8cTc so be it. And you reload.

Re: made flush but massive overbet on riv

Line up to the river seems fine to me.

River, 100% call, don't think about it, if you lose, this is what a bankroll is for. If you're worried about losing to a straight flush then there's little sense in calling down with the naked Ac as the 2c, 9c, 8c, 6c, 4c, or 3c do not give you the nuts after this flop. The overbet is indicative of a moronic bluff or a clown who flopped a flush and fails to assess the river, more often than it's indicative of a straight flush.

FWIW considering you have $219 left, this isn't a "massive" overbet - it's silly but not entirely uncommon.

There are 2 possible straight flushes. Hero has neither one. Hero doesnt quite have the nuts.

of course i called pretty fast and he had 86c, i guess my real question here is how much of an overbet you would call? do you ever fold for any amount against a player like this? on another note, do you fold this against a decent tag or a rockish player ?

Why WOULDNT you call...Dont be results oriented, in poker many times the best play makes you lose cash, but calling is really your only option. I dont care if villian is tighter then a damn nun, I insta-call 100% of the time...

I thought I was a nit

of course the donk was an instacall, like i said i wanted to hear some opinions about playing an almost nut hand like this against a tight/good player with an overbet like that.

There acctually are a few players against whom i can find a fold, but they are few, and it would have to be >200bb for me to think about it..

Re: made flush but massive overbet on riv

Yeah call. What you're worried that the donk has specifically Tc8c or 8c6c? That seems like playing scared and I'd call happily. The flop and turn look good too given the implied odds against a LAGdonk. Preflop is debatable due to his aggression, but at least you have position.
