For those of you happy with the Party conversion of Monster seats to $s, I respectfully disagree.

Unless I miscalculated, they held a LARGE portion of the $s back, since they calculated it based on 8,000 Grand Final seats. Since there were only 1,000 won so far, and only 10,000 monthly seats + some unknown # of weekly seats this was grossly unfair.

What they paid
1,000 Grand Final x $1,800 = $1.8 Million
10,000 Monthly x $350 = $3.5 M
~10,000 Weekly x $100 = $1.0 M

Total =$6.3 M paid (out of $14.5M pool)




Here is a draft of the email I am planning on sending to [email protected] / [email protected] / whatever emails anyone suggests, as well as following up with phone call(s) to VIP. If anyone thinks I'm off, please correct me.

- 8,000 Weekly seats -> 2,000 Monthly seats + $100k, therefore W$ = (M$ x 2,000 + $100,000) / 8000 = 1/4 M$ + $12.50.
- Substitute 1/8 GF $ + $125 for M$ into above and you get W$ = 1/4 (1/8 GF + $125) + $12.50 = 1/32 GF$ + $43.75

So to sum up values that we know:
W$ = 1/32 GF$ + $137.50
M$ = 1/8 GF$ + $125
Total Prize Pool = ~$14.5 Million
# of Grand Final seats outstanding / to be paid = 1,000
# of Monthly seats to be paid = 10,000 (9 weekly qualifiers x 2,000 – 8,000 for 1 monthly run)

Formula for total prize pool distributed should be:
Total = Grand Final seats * GF$ + Monthly seats * M$ + Weekly Seats * W$

$14,500,000 = 1,000 * GF $ + 10,000 * (1/8 GF $ + $125) + WeeklySeats * (1/32 GF $ + $43.75)

Solving for GF $, we get:
$14,500,000 = GF$ * (1,000 + 1,250 + 1/32 WeeklySeats) + $1,250,000 + WeeklySeats * $43.75

I actually just posted that this seemed fair. I didn't take into account that there arent 8,000 players qualified for the Grand Finale. I am going to look at your math and get back to you. I definately made a mistake.

P.S. I highly doubt Party will do anything about this, but its worth trying.

Party seeded the monster pot with $5M (I believe). I cant see them handing that out now...so I would subtract $5M from that Monster Jackpot total.

Go on the website and there is an option to convert your seats to cash under promotions -> monster. A party rep made a statement on 2+2 that they would be paying out the promotion. Otherwise, I would have not expected anything either. Fact is, they should pay it out fairly. They are the ones refusing our business.

I knew this would happen, $#@% Party would not pay out fair value which in addition to the $125 per monthly and the $12.5 per weekly would be atleast 14,4 Million less the 5 Mill seed prorated which is say 1 million so 10.4 million which means that they are keeping more than 5 mill out of our money.

From what I had in the other thread...

*Paid out for 1000 Finals: $1800 = $1,800,000
Paid out for ~10,000 Monthlies: $350 = $3,500,000
Total 5.3 million of 23.4 million
(14 million final + 7 million monthly + 2.4 million weekly)

Paid out $100 for weeklies. So to make this structure correct, they would have needed to pay out $18 million for the weeklies. At $100 a piece, that is 181,000 weeklies.

(Even if you subtract their initial $5million, which you shouldn't because it was int he pot....They need to pay out 130,000 weeklies...no effin way)

Considering 192,000 was the max, and we had 8 months left..I think that is under.

I don't know what the new system should be, but by my high end estimates (20,000 weeklies)

There is about 16 million $ unaccounted for. ($11 million if we take out the initial 5 mil)

They paid out roughly 7 million of 23 million. Yikes.

I can see in "My Account" under "Freeroll Activity" that I have a Monthly freeroll available, and a weekly one as well, but then below that it says there are no freerolls that I can convert. How were other people able to convert these?

You guys realize that in their method they paid out the $1mil freerolls and the 100k freerolls...

I think some of you forgot to factor in that additional $9,000,000. They kept like 2/3 of what they advertised.

I do realize that. I'm 99% sure I included the value of the $1 Million in the Monthly (by adding $125 in value to each monthly seat to the 1/8th of the Final Seat calue) and likelwise for the Weekly.

And yes, I 100% agree that they did keep a very large share of what was advertised.

Are you [censored] serious. This is the dumbest post ive read ever. Even if you subtract the 5 million seed money. The have been raking extra at the monster tables for a month for a grand total of 9 million dollars, they have to pay this money back or its just straight up stealing. You are saying that we are lucky that party didnt just steal 9 million dollars???? Not to mention the promised 100k for each weekly and the 1.25 million for each monthly. They stole well over 10 million dollars and your dumb ass says we should be "happy"? They are a publicly traded company you dumb [censored], they cant just steal money. There should be a class action law suit over this. Seriously, if anyone is a lawyer you could make a bunch of money if you take this to court in England.

Why arent you counting the 100k for each weekly, the 1 million for each monthly into this count? Party should have paid out ~25million and they paid out 6million. Not only did they not pay out their required freerolls that they promised to pay (100k each weekly, 1m each monthly etc) they did not even pay out the full amount of money they have been collecting (now stealing) from the monster tables for the last month. They collected approximately 9million dollars from people and they paid out 6million.....unbelievable.

Noone can really expect that they pay added pricemoney. If you remove the added money 2 monthlys (2 millions) 10 weekyls (1 million) and the 5 millions for the Final you have only 6 millions to payout. And guess thats around the Money we got.....the only think i complain is that the Final is not 8 times the monthly.

I jsut tlaked to a guy for about 6 minutes (by phone timer) he kept saying that it was based on "probability" (EV) and that all moneys were being paid out...and I was trying to keep it simple and sound confused so they dont ban my account...haha but...

He said he just asked *whoever it was* and they said they assured him..blah blah...i asked to be transferred to whoever he just talked to.

This is them paying out somewhere between 6 and 9 million of a 23 (or 18 if you take the seed out) pot. Uhh, this blows.

I agree they should have paid that out, so I have edited the "Fair" total payment blurb to reflect that below.

I'm fairly sure I did include the EV of the $1M / $100k for Monthly/weekly in the EV calc for seat values. But you are right, I did not document that properly in the total amount they SHOULD have paid out.

I posed this exact question. I said that it seems to me only 1/3 of the pot is getting paid out. He keeps wanting to let him talk to htem and get back to me later...I keep asking him new versions of the same Question...plan to until he gets me an answer.

YOUR NUMBERS ARE WRONG. There have been over 16 weekly tourneys which each send 2000 players to a monthly. Then there are atleast 32,000 monthly qualiers. Thats a little off from your calculation of 10,000 monthly tourneys. There has only been 1 monthly tourney which had about 7700 players I believe, so they still need to pay atleast 24,300 monthy seats.

I believe you are grossly miscalculating the number of weeklies too. There were over 4000 entries in each weekly. With 16 weeklies past thats 64,000 entries spent. There is no way that only 10,000 unspent weeklies eats exist.

I may be wrong, but every thread I've read shows that Party has run 9 Weekly qualifier tournaments and 1 Monthly tournament. If you have a link or some way of showing that's not true, I'll stand corrected.

HavanaBanana may have it on something I stupidly didn't think of. He did not click the "convert seats to cash" button, as they may mean you accept their values. No way to know.

Does anyone have the # of the VIP department handy so I can call them? I lost it when I deleted every trace of anything related to Party from my computer.

I would like to make it very clear that I expect Party to deposit the additional $5,000 - $6,000 in value I SHOULD have received for my Monster seats, but did not.

I was paid only $1,800 for my 1 Final, 5 x $350 for 5 Monthly seats, and 2 x $100 for my Weekly seats for a total of $3,751.

I SHOULD have received approximately $9,100 (assuming 10,000 outstanding weekly seats -> $5,000 Grand Final seat value), so I am owed about $5,350.

I made sure to ask the guya nd he told me there was no time limit...Those refunds would be ther euntil I choose to make it so.

Even if you accept their cash values, it wouldnt be hard for them to add on what you're still owed. Theyre being major tools about this.

I will accept in a couple days if they don't get back to me....

I've sent 3 emails to different spots...the first one I got a reply from...

It basically said "We thank you for your concerns...however at this time the Monster tournament is untenable due to legislation. If you log in, you can convert, blah blah"....

My email had asked why the conversion was off. Figures.

I played a load of Monster tables, but that was it - I never signed up for any tournaments or anything like that.

Are players like me due anything? Or is our Monster rake gone?

I want Party to go on the record as to how many weekly tickets are/were in the system. If the number is large enough -- like if there were 184,000 weekly seats out there -- then their payouts are "fair" at least in the sense that they're not holding any money back (even though it's obvious that the grand final tickets would have had an EV of much more than $1800 had we not been Fristed).

Somehow I doubt that they awarded anywhere near that many tickets.

Chomp, Event is shut down for everyone. You are due nothing as the way they did it. I still don't get why cash gamers weren't getting in on this. Even without any tourney skill whatsoever it was so profitable.

Whether or not you're morally due anything, you have less chance at money than we have at getting more money....Enjoy?

How can they use 8000 expected players but not use the expected prize pool. They claim to be using expected value, but if this tourney was not cancelled our finale seats would be worth atleast $30M-$5M/8000 = $3125
