What\'s your word or catch phrase?
It seems everyone I know says something way more often then the other people I know. There's always something that a certain person can be counted on to say within a certain period of time.
I say "word" way too much. A few of my friends got me hooked on it a couple years ago and I just can't seem to shake it. I hate that I say it as much as I do. "Word" has become my... well, my word. What's yours? |
Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
atm mine is "shut your wordhole."
eg. sister: "would you like a cup of coffee?" me: "shut your wordhole. but yes, please." i think it's starting to get on the nerves of my family (which is kinda the point). |
Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
http://www.cnn.com/SHOWBIZ/HomeVideo/jumanji2.large.jpg I don't really have a catchphrase, but at the moment one of my friends says "jumanji, man." It apparently means anything ranging from "that's awesome" to "that sucks" depending on the situation / intonation. |
Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
I say "PEACE" when I say goodbye-- it's a nighmare that never ends. I also say blingbling about stuff which does not shiny like a diamond: New Bacco Bucci sneakers, a well placed jumpshot, or a scintillating comeback.
PEACE! --GA |
Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
When I greet someone I say "What it do?"

Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
I say "Dude", "Berk" (only because its c/rhyming slang for c**t) and "Be-Atch"...I use all of these in a joke-type sense and never take myself seriously in saying them...

Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
I use the word "disaster" way too often, as well as call people "fu*ker" (which I also do way too often).
|
Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
I say sexyback a lot. When I pass a good-looking broad on the street I just say "sexyback" and wink. I have a really cool looking wink and it always leaves them wanting more.
|
Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
I can't stop saying 'sickkkk' which is embarrassing when no-one in this country uses it in that context.
|

Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
I say "truth" whenever someone says something I agree with. I've been doing it for ages, and it kind of spread through my groups of friends.
|

Also acceptable in that situation is, "I am king of this domain for as far as the ball shall travel!" Actually I use Jumanji and Yahtzee when something exciting happens. |

Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
i say word alot too, but tend to say it in a sarcastic and usually far from serious way, when im just hanging around with friends. eg:
'hows that research going on the makenzie firm?' 'word' i think its funny, but i guess only in the context of my group of friends. i also know this crazy japanese guy who is famous for coming up with a new catchphrase every few months. he started with just saying 'oh snap' at like everything. then he moved on to 'deadly sniped' (ie his aces got cracked on the turn and he raised a big bet on the river - 'maaang, i got deadly sniped') and then 'yeah, keep on walking fella...keep talking bro' i guess what really funny about it is they are fairly random comments that dont make much sense within the context of the conversation/situation. meh |
Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
Ever since I saw Fletch in 1985, whenever anyone drops anything noisily or otherwise makes a crashing sound, I always say "I'll get it..."
I should probably find something else. |
Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
I say "So it goes" a lot, probably from reading a lot of Vonnegut when I was younger.

Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
"Klingt komisch, ist aber so" (non-germans obv. won't get that one, heck, even most germans won't get it).
As for speaking english, I overuse "cheers, hey/mate". It's my standard good-bye phrase. |
Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
"okeys"
"coolio" "bish" That's all I got. Am I missing the fun part of this thread? Ray |

Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
when someone, or myself drops something i usually say, "you/I just put that there". works better in norwegian though :/ (du bare la den der du)

Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
"you'd think so, wouldn't you?"
sounds snobbish, but can be delightful when used in a self-depreciating context. ex. "wow you've gone to some great schools. you're obviously very bright." |
Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
Whenever I am getting ready to go anywhere with anyone, I like to tell them in a dramatic voice, “take ONLY what you NEED to survive!”.

Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
Zip it up and zip it out.

Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
I'm sure I have a lot of words and phrases that are more particular to me than in general use, but there are probably so many of them that I can't even think of one. I have a pretty wide vocabulary and peculiar personal dialect.

Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
"Sir" in place of where many say "dude" or "man" or whatever. I am sure this can be found even in my posts on 2+2.
I find this a much better alternative to my roommates who use the word "[censored]" and "[censored]" respectively....allllll of the time, even when talking to themselves or out of context. |
Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
"Would you like fries with that?"
|
Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
"Make big trouble for moose, and squirrel!"

Re: What\'s your word or catch phrase?
When I'm dealing poker and there is a raise I'll point to the next guy and say "100 mas to you." I don't know why I do it...it just comes out.
