I think it's OK if we have one official thread of this nature in SSNL. This isn't a place to complain about Congress or Bill Frist or questions about the legislation itself. Please follow along in the legislation forum for that. Also, in that forum you will find all the poker site's statements as to what they are doing.

Here, we can talk amongst our friends and acquaintances what we are doing and plan on doing or hope to do as online poker players, especially in the near future.

So, converse/brainstorm/share:

As for me, I took out alot of my roll last week unrelated to all this nonsense, leaving me with $2k online at Pokerstars. Late last nite, because of this legislation I decided to take another $600 offline, and just now got the cash thru Neteller ATM. So, now I have about $5 in Neteller and $1400 in Pokerstars.

I did that transaction before having to accept or decline the new Neteller T&C so haven't done anything with that yet.

I feel OK (atm) having money in Stars. If I had any money in Party, I would have taken it out, but that's just me.

I am not entirely pessimistic about this whole thing. The legislation didn't make online poker any more legal or illegal than it ever was in the USA. Sadly, the fish/casual player will probably panic and see this as making poker illegal and take all their money out, making the games a whole lot tougher.

What're you doing?

i am worried and am estimating this costs me around $20k this year.

can someone break down the neteller t&c for me for someone from the UK? i'm hoping i'm ok here...

I'm gonna 12-table on Party as much as I can until Bush signs the bill. When Party kicks out all the US players I'm going to reevaluate and choose between Party and Full Tilt (unless FTP also decides to kick out US players, in which case it's off to Stars or somewhere else).

I'm also considering looking into the Crypto and B2B networks to see what they offer.

As far as I know (but don't take my word for it) non-US players don't have to worry about the Neteller business.

PP is the only site I've ever played, and I cashed out my entire roll over the past few days at the urgings of Berge and his respectable ilk.

I don't think CBloom's approach is a bad one.

Now I have to figure out if I can safely get started on a site like FT or Stars. And I am a technological moran. But sad to say, PP is dead to me. For now.

I've pulled all my $ and am going to sit tight until I start seeing the "establish your own foreign address and bank account" advertising start to appear. Should take about a month, I figure.

i cashed 2k via check to my house..i have my last 500 on party + 300 coming in rakeback(which i better get). Should i leave my 500 on party and continue to play or cash it out of party and into neteller? If you're leaving party where are you going...

Im going to stick to FT until they decide to boot the US players. They made a statement that was posted in the the legislation forum saying they dont think this will effect their players because they view poker as a game of skill.

Doubt that holds much weight but at least they are not just bending over while the US gov't assumes the position.

As far as funds go, they are spread between FT, PS and Neteller. I plan to cash out all but a skeleton roll for FT and wait till all of the dust settles.

I cashed out the $4k+ I had in Party. I still have some money in Stars, Full Tilt, and WPEX.

I guess I'll play a little on these sites for now. Gotta try to clear this Stars reload while I still have time...

I use Neteller from Canada. I haven't seen anything in the Bill to suggest that my transactions will be affected. If anyone thinks differently I'd want to hear it, but I don't see how a U.S. law can touch a non-citizen living outside the U.S. dealing with a corporation operating outside the U.S.. (N.B. I'm talking about law...American diplomatic pressure has a more significant international reach).

I never had any party money so that didn't affect me, and I'm not terribly worried about them taking my money

Offhand the neteller max is $1000/24 hours and $2000/week. Looks like it's also $3k/month. Email them to up your deposit limits. Also get rb (27% is the max allowed by FTP).

I am from Canada, and I am not going to do anything different yet. Once US players are officially out of Party I will reevaluate what site or what combo of sites offers me the max. profit potential.

I just hope Canada doesnt follow the U.S. regarding this law.

I know party wouldnt have done this without thinking of other options. Obviously the decision they made has costed them billions because of the law, so there is most likely nothing they can do, or they would have already tried (or will try soon). They will remain in business and seek new markets, so I am not worried about losing any money from them.

I am mostly worried about my rakeback provider and I hope they can continue doing business with me and party.

My winrate will most likely fall, but I do not suspect it will fall nearly as much as a higher/mid stake player's will fall. Most SSNL (100 and 200 nl) players suck, weather from the US or not. It will no doubt decrese but not by a large margin (at least I hope not). However, I can see how this would SEVERLY affect the higher stake players.

I have half my roll in UB, and half my roll in neteller.
As a canadian citizen, I have NO plans on moving it, unless something changes.

Im pretty sure that for new accounts, the max is $600 a day. Not sure the week and month figures though.

I'm cashing out of party and keeping 4k on ft. If stars end up taking a similar approach to ft i will spread between those two till the 270 days is up. If it does(and it sure looks that way) come to the stage where US players just can't get money online then i will prolly spread my role round 4-5 sites including a couple of european ones to help game selection. I don't see myself being hurt too much though as i have always played at [censored] uk times anyway when it's most europeans playing.

Money cashed out of Party. Not sure what I'm going to do. I guess I'd like a confirmation about which sites plan on doing what before I make a pointless deposit...

I'd also like to know if anyone has forumlated a plan for the idea about using a non-USA based bank account and address. It'd be cool if someone smarter than me could detail this and how it would work.

cashed out 2k from party and will be moving most of my roll back to Full Tilt. Still have a decent amount of money on UB and Stars. I still have to clear bonuses at UB and Stars, so will be trying to clear those now. Man, this sucks.

FYI: The legislation forum and the internet forum are the two forums 2p2'ers should be checking out continuously. A FT rep just made a statement in the internet forum.

FYI+1: IMHO, The future trouble for US players may be getting monies online; and therefore it might not be wise to take all $$$ offline.

I cashed out all my money on Party, still got about 2k on Stars because I trust them more than anyone else. I plan on 6-8 tabling for a few hours tonight before all the fish start leaving.

I have been wondering about that too.

I would love to read something reassuring from Neteller, I would like to keep my loot there.

I think the most disconceting "future trouble" is loss of fish.

My plan,
1) Cash out of Party.
2) Leave $ in Neteller in case I have to shift away from FT (which is already fully funded fo me).
3) Blow all my Party Points on freeroll tournies today. Possible free monies?@!#
4) FTP is home.
5) Chill.

I'm not cashing out from the major sites. What money I have in neteller, Stars, and Full Tilt will not move except for regular withdrawls.

I'm not worried about these companies screwing me. After the statement from FT, I figure I have at least a few months of play left in which I can simply save up as much as possible in order to reevaluate the situation when they do. Not much else I can do except go out and get a job, and no job is goig to come close to allowing me to go to school and make the same money in the same time frame.

Just gotta wait and see now. Oh, and bitch of course. [censored] you Frist.

I think this is actually good in the short term. I can't wait for the moment Party throws the switch. Most of the Party fish will go 2 places: Stars and FT. I'm sure the ratio of 2p2:Fish is a high one, so even though we're taking on more of you [censored] at FT, hopefully we'll get far more fish.

How do the other sites deal with EFTs from bank accounts? Same as party where it takes a few days to first setup and all deposits are instantaneous but withdraws take a few days? I only use Neteller for my RB transfers and I currently have nothing in there until I get sept payment.
