Someone could bring a ship piled high with suitcase nuke bombs into the country while the guys at the ports who are supposed to look out for that kind of stuff are playing that there 'online pokaah' on their laptops. No problems.

I think they should ban all state lotteries because a terrorist could by a lottery ticke for $1, win a couple million and then use those millions to fund terrorist activities and buy bombs. So, state lottteries are in fact supporting terrorism, we need to ban them now, Mr. Frist.

I played against a guy on Party named, "POKERJIHADONYOU" - he was obviously a terrorist.

I would guess that certain politicians would attempt to make a connection to incite fear so that he could convince people he was their savior trying to do good for them.

are there politicians trying to bridge a connection? I haven't heard anything about this, could someone provide a link or something if this has any merit?

From what I have read someone in Congress was complaining that the IG was attached, but other bills like transportation were not.

And one of the replies was that the money from gambling supports terrorism, and therefore is more pertinent to the port bill than the others.

That is a grossly butchered summary, but you get the idea...

internet gambling and killing people are practically the same thing. How could they not be attached to the same bill?

Just a note to anyone concerned. Please be sure to call your senator. Just a reminder. Remind as many people as you can!

Only way i see is to dump money purposely to another player to make the money legal poker winnings. At no limit table you call an all in on the river with a hand that will beat the other hand. One player tells the other on the phone what he has and if the other can beat it he calls.

=clean money (perhaps it would be done after some real play to make it look legit and maybe through multiple accounts until it reaches the end person)

Yeah this is true, but think about it. What the hell is the point of laundering a few thousand dollars...I'll tell you...nothing. And I'm pretty sure the sites would catch one before someone laundered a legitimate amount of money. Don't let the rhetoric fool you, this is all about christian family groups who think gambling is a sin, the other reasons are just made up [censored]. I mean you don't think a site would notice after someone dropped a few hundred buyins to the same guy, or if 2 random people showed up at the biggest games and only lost buyins one to the other? In short, if you need to launder a few million dollars, there's a lot better ways to do it than on a poker site (especially since the party monster rake would take most of it anyway.)

The terrorists aren't laundering money through poker, it's a well known fact they use the gammon and bingo sites for these illegal activities.

Tell me about it, we never did get a straight answer as to who was buying massive amounts of put options on American and United Airlines just before 9/11.

A lot of the 9/11 conspiracy sites seem to think this "proves" their BS about the US government knowing about the attacks ahead of time -- I think a much more likely explanation is that someone in al qaeda, or close to al qaeda, used their prior knowledge to do it.

And it's not like they couldn't repeat this -- you think the terrorists haven't thought of buying up a bunch of oil futures and then bombing a pipeline in Saudi Arabia?
