Re: 16s: Dont go broke in an unraised pot right?
this post was not the one i saw when i responded originally, i was looking at an AK hand, yes push this tho imo.

Re: 16s: Dont go broke in an unraised pot right?
i guess push this. How'd you get so low in the first place?
|
Re: 16s: Push this right?
yeah, when you take a big hit like this against limpers youre going to need to double up and with some dead money in the pot and a hand that will likely be live even when called (lower limit players cant resist calling a short stack shove, though you do have plenty of FE), this is a fine spot to do it in

Re: 16s: Dont go broke in an unraised pot right?
Called that AK hand future mentioned and lost to 34o that limped and flopped A34 rainbow. I wasnt paying attention and didnt realize that it hadnt been raised preflop. Brain fart, so I declined to post it.
However, had I raised and flopped that board, bet and was re-raised all in, do I call? |
Re: 16s: Dont go broke in an unraised pot right?
With AK you need to raise to keep 43 type hands out. If you had raised AK early on and you hit a toppair, then basically take it all the way. Unless obvious draws are out there that hit or I have a serious read on the opponent, I'm usually allin by the turn on that hand.
If he called your raise with 43 and flopped 2 pair, youre still alive (barely), and screw that guy anyway, make a note of him. |
Re: 16s: Push this right?
The push is DEFINITELY +EV. The only question is whether there's another line you could take that would be even higher EV. Limp is a mistake 'cos you're giving them a free flop in position. Which means you're giving him more information than yourself ('cos he sees your bet) for free. Push all in. Maybe, raise to 200. If he calls then go all in on the flop. He'll only call if he hit the flop (one third of the time). So 2/3 of the time you'll win 200. The other third of the time you've probably still got 1/3 equity. So your EV would be
200*.66 + 350*.33+.33 - 350*.33*.66 130 + 40 - 80 = 90 which may be better than pushing though it's not clear. |
Re: 16s: Push this right?
i seriously doubt anyone just calls a 200 raise and folds to 150 more on the flop. Although, the stupid crap I see all the time constantly proves me wrong.

Re: 16s: Push this right?
I wouldnt stop and go with this stack.
|
Re: 16s: Push this right?
You're probably right. But anyone who recognizes that the 200 is really an all in is going to deal with it as an all in and that's fine. The few who decide to see the flop and then fold are giving us free fold equity. This would seem to imply that a 200 bet would be better than an all in.

Re: 16s: Push this right?
With 350 left, you need more chips, and this is a good spot to try to get them. Calling is silly to me because limpers tend to play hands like A7o, and you don't want that hand in the pot against you. You don't have enough chips to make 3x raising a maneuverable option, and it might not get the early limpers out. I'd either push or fold here, with pushing being the probable move.

Re: 16s: Push this right?
I'd just rather get it in pf with the possibility of taking the blinds, then have to push my remaining 150 on a KJX type board.
