February: Film Review request month - what you want?
 

I've decided all films reviewed in February will be requests only, and I'm now taking them. 3-4 a week is my limit for this.

People have sent me requests before, but I lost all of them when my palm pc crashed [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] , and I can't remember who asked for what.

So fire away for any other film/TV show reviews you want to see. I'll be choosing them on the basis of what I've seen or have on my shelf to see, how popular specific requests are, how appealing I think they may be to OOT tastes, and special preference to any odd/mostly unseen ones that I think will appeal to OOTers.

Pryor and Dom seem to do the classics, and Dom/Pryor/KDawg seem to do recent and current releases, so lets steer clear of those maybe?

Now, to keep this a reasonable thread promoting discussion rather than a string of requests, I'll also welcome any comments on my past selection process, what films best suit my style, and stuff like that.

I'd like to read your review of Cinderella Man. I really liked it, and it seems very few people saw it. So, maybe people don't like feel good films? I didn't even view it as one, but I feel like that's what people would say. Anyways, definitely would like to see your review of this.

Sarcasm aside, specifically I'd like reviews and discussion on any or all: Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, Miller's Crossing (one of my favorite movies), Barton Fink, Fargo, Big Lebowski, and O' Brother Where Art Thou.

My Review:

Watch Seabiscuit, and pretend the main character is a boxer instead of a horse. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] Those movies were both "entertaining watches" IMO, but nothing to get overly exctied about. Paul Giamatti was excellent as usual though.

This is a pretty good comparison. I didn't think about it at the time, but both are pretty similar in many ways. And both feature great supporting performances, by Giamati and Macy.

now this is funny cause I'm planning on doing Director theme's for now until the end of feb. Basically, right now I'm gonna go on the scorcese kick, then onto Traffault, then I was planning on getting to the coen bros.

I want to suggest a new series of reviews. I want reviews of one movie set in each of the 50 United States, in alphabetical order by state. If you're so inclined, continue the series with a movie set in each part of England. What do you guys have over there, anyway? Provinces? States? Counties? Parishes? Kingdoms? Shires? Hamlets?

Kipin - my review would be that it is "totally awesome", and this is why I should not be allowed to post OOT film reviews.

I would definitely like to see more TV series reviews in general. Some include CSI, Firefly, Lost, The Office, and any older classics. It's harder to do an old series because there are usually so many seasons, maybe picking a couple of the best or worst seasons might work out nicely.
