The worst pain ever
 

Right now the left side of my face is swelling up. I think I have a sinus infection, but the really bad part is that it is making one of my teeth hurt so badly that I feel like I'm going to die right here. I'm on my way to pick up some antibiotics and pain medication (and maybe a bottle of vodka).

What is the worst pain you have ever felt? Was it dental? I'm sure that childbirth is nothing compared to my tooth right now, so ladies you'll have to do better than that [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Pulling out a nose hair, something cold on a broken tooth, and the cramping right before diarrhea are all pretty painfull, but I doubt these compare to what you're going through right now.

once put my hand into the open fan on an air hockey table. Ripped a good part of the nail and skin off. Hurt like a muther

There was a guy that Tony Robbins talks about who was involved in a motorcycle accident. He layed down the bike at 60mph before hitting a stopped semi-trailer, while sliding under the trailer the gas cap came off the bike, sparks ignited the fuel, he was burned all over, spent months in the hospital too weak for pain relievers and it hurt even to breathe.

Nope, for me it was breaking my Femur bone. It's the largest, longest and thickest bone in the human body. I snapped that [censored] right in two. (Well my brother did actually, we were sledding and he slammed right into me)

The pain didn't register right away since it happened so fast, so I tried to stand up...then I felt it.

It kinda looked like I had two knees.

4 months in traction, 6 months in a full body cast up to my chest, and 4 more months of therepy.

When I was 14 I was making a smoothie in my blender at home and after I turned the blender off, I stuck my hand in the thing like an idiot to unjam a piece of ice stuck in the blade. I guess the blade still had a little spin left in it because it damn near chopped off the tip of my middle finger. 17 stitches had to keep it in place. I gotta say that hurt a lot.

A couple years ago on forth of july some friends and I got a beach house. It was fun, we are all drinking around the bondfire. Well, a peice of wood rolled off the top of the fire, but it was only burnt on the bottom. I was an idiot and tried to pick it up with my hand. Not a good idea. I wrapped my thumb around to far and burnt my thumb so bad. It instantly swelled up into a water blister and didnt stop hurting for like 5 hours. I couldn't even take ice off of it. I can't even imagine how much it would have hurt if i was not drunk. Good drunk times!!

when i was maybe 12 i went to fetch a boomerang that was landing and it swooped back up and hit me between the nose and lip; had a hole through my lip there into my mouth and it took 200 stitches; from when i got hit until when i got numbed/stitched was about 4 hours

barely a scar now tho, since a plastic surgeon did the stitching

almost all were internal to stitch up the hole and keep my lip intact

only 13 were external, and it's very unnoticeable now

but yeah, it sucked having the blood/guts drain right into my mouth for 4 hours

the boomerang just sliced right through

it was actually the first (and last) time i ever played with a boomerang

Worst thing I can ever remember is having one of those expander things in the roof of my mouth for a few months when I was 11 or 12. Basically like a permanent retainer that you had to stick a little key in and turn twice a day to make my mouth larger so I had enough room for my wisdom teeth to come in. The first week was basically nonstop excruciating pain as this thing loosened all my teeth in shifting them to their new locations. Couldn't eat solid food or sleep the entire time. And, of course, even after that only one of my wisdom teeth ended up coming in so I'm still going to have to get them extracted pretty soon.

It hurts until the kidney stone leaves your body. It's like someone constantly kicking you in the balls. My kidney stone wasn't big so I didn't even notice it coming out. The pain just subsided after a day so that's how I knew it was gone. Do a search on Google, you can find images of huge jagged ones lolol.

My dad had a few of those, and I heard it might be hereditary. I think in the future I will keep some heroin around just in case

Tearing my ACL horrible, HORRIBLE pain for the first few minutes. After that, it was tolerable.

I've heard femurs are the most painful tho.

Yea, in most cases it is hereditary. I'm pretty sure I got mine after holding my pee too long 3x over the span of a weekend. The calcium in your urine builds up and compacts into a crystal form or something like that. I got it on my birthday [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

It starts ominously. From maybe 6-8 hours after I wake up, my urine just dribbles all day. I have to constantly pee pretty much every 5 minutes, and I always feel like I have to pee. That's obnoxious, but it's just a sign of things to come.

First, the pain is a little dull right where my kidney is. It builds and builds until it's a sharp pain. I don't know what to compare it to. This is when the vomiting starts for me, I get nauseas and the pain gets worse and worse. Last time I pretty much covered my bathroom in vomit because it was hard to aim in the toilet. That was lovely.

Then the pain gets even worse. It's in the worst spot I can imagine, pressure doesn't help, and I'm pretty much writhing at this point. My first one lasted for maybe a couple hours and my second one lasted overnight.

They don't hurt at all when they come out. It's a bit of a burning feeling and a hell of a relief, but it's not that bad.

Mine were about 2 or 2.5 times that size. Imagine that goign from your kidney to your bladder and then out. And I guess they get bigger than that, too.

[/ QUOTE ]Haha, how do you describe it? I guess it was like if the catheter wasn't removed, but rather just instantly heated to flesh-burning temperature. It kind of felt like the inside of my dick was on fire for a moment. If I had to choose between five seconds of that level of pain or death, it would be tough. Maybe I'm lucky the nurse was able to yank it out successfully on the first try?

Awesome descriptions guys. Keep em coming, my pain has receded from the worst sharp pain I have ever felt to a more general incredibly painful ache in the entire left side of my face. I pressed on my face next to my nose a bit to test things out and was rewarded with a feeling as if a dremel tool were boring into my skull.

Do not. Scratch. Your. Cornea. Ever.

Picture me driving at night through a hurricane to the emergency room screaming continuously, almost totally blind from the scratch & irritation of one eye and the crying like a little bitch from the other one, and then begging the doctor to take my eye out of my head.

They put these numbing drops in my eye, but they only work for like 15 minutes a pop, and they can only give it 3 times, because anymore and your cornea will die and slough off the front of your eyeball.

That was the night that I learned this neat little fact: Your cornea has the highest density of nerve endings in your entire body.

Incredibly, your cornea also regenerates faster than any other tissue. 48 hours later it was like it never happened.

Nothing has ever come close to this. Gastritis was the next worst, itself horrendously painful. I would put it at about a 3/10 on the Abraded Cornea Scale.

I've never had my cornea scratched, but I can say that gastritis is pretty effing terrible. I think any pain in the gastrointestinal tract is gonna be pretty awful.

I was once walking down a hallway that had a painted cinder block wall. I was absent mindedly running my hand along the wall. My fingernail caught a paint chip and it ran underneath my fingernail all the way to the base. Horrible pain, but only for an instant. It made the all the hair on my head, back, arms, stand up and also made me involuntarily drop what I was carrying in my other hand. What really sucked was that when I went to get it removed they had to cut off the fingernail to get it out. Oddly enough, the numbing of the fingernail was the worst pain. They had drive a syringe of novacaine underneath my nail. Im freaking out now just thinking about it.
