I think this is BS. If they actually did slow it down then his voice would have gotten deeper. As far as I know there is no way to slow down audio while still maintaining the original tone. But then again I am not an audio expert.

They didnt slow down his voice, they slowed down the beat (which is his) to match his voice. He was just rhyming for them in the interview room, but espn attached the slowed down beat.

It is not at all difficult to perform time compression/expansion without altering pitch.
