Party Blackjack - kickass Promo

http://www.partycasino.com/news/prom...artyhours.html

Party is paying 2:1 on blackjack for the next 3 days (possibly 6, there's conflicting info on their site) between 6:00 and 7:00 PM EST. This adds 2.27% of player advantage to the -.55% of their basic game, making a 1.72% player advantage game. Assuming 600 hands an hour, your expectation is just over 10 units for the hour.

Why am I posting this here instead of Internet Bonuses? Because that forum is full of risk-averse pussies. BBV is where the real gamblers hang out.

So who here has the balls to bet $200/hand for an hour in a grossly +EV situation?

"If the dealer also has Blackjack you will not win and you will only be returned your Stake."

isn't this a big deal in the other direction?

I'm pretty sure PPBJ is like 70/30 for the house, not the 50.5/49.5 you claim. I have 200k hands to support this.

I'm not sure what your question is. It's always a push when you have BJ vs a dealer BJ.

If you bet $25 a hand. Whats the +EV/hour for this game?

I dont think I can bet more as a 200nl player.

People don't discuss things like variance and risk of ruin in BBV. They whip out their big hairy balls and slap people in the face with them.

[gay math not suitable for BBV]

standard deviation of blackjack = 1.2 (standard blackjack is 1.155, I'm assuming the SD is slightly higher because of the 2:1 BJ payoff)

SD 600 hands = 1.2*sqrt(600) = 29.4 units

Expectation = +10.3 units

So

65% chance of finishing between -19.1 units and +39.7
95% chance of finishing between -48.5 and +69.1
99.7% chance of finishing between -77.9 and +98.5

[/end gay math]

Just follow the dealer strategy. Hit on less than 16, and stand on 17 or higher. You won't be giving up too much.

its a lot better than doing it by instinct, but a card is better. esp when betting 200$ units.

Wtf is the dealer strategy? If it involves hitting a 12 when the dealer shows 5 or a 6 it cant be that great.

It's actually quite a lot worse than doing it by instinct, unless your instincts are really terrible.

Btw, does anybody feel by instinct that standing with TT is good vs a dealers 6? I can just never understand that.

Re: Party Blackjack - kickass Promo

i would bet 200 per hand on a 30k roll for sure.

200*50=10k. 95% chance of not losing more than 10k. EV is 2k.

i have a 6k roll, i'll be doing $50 bets for sure.

Re: Party Blackjack - kickass Promo

Sorry, I should have posted some of this earlier in anticipation of a glut of questions.

Q: <blah blah blah blah> gambling question <blah blah>
A: Wizardofodds.com almost certainly has the answer

Q: Which game does this promo apply to?
A: According to party, it is their Blackjack-Single Player game with a max bet of $200. Their terms explicity exclude thier Blackjack - High Limit game. I have no idea if Blackjack - Single Deck or Blackjack - Multi player apply.

Q: Strategy Card for Party blackjack?
A: Party uses 8 decks. Resplit up to 4 hands. Double after Split (DAS). Double on Anything (DOA). Hit on Soft 17 (H17). Late surrender allowed. Use the right hand card at

http://wizardofodds.com/blackjack/strategy/4deck.html

If you can't interpret this card, do not participate in this promo. You will probably lose money and whine about it later

Q: How'd you calculate the house advantage of party's game without the 2:1 promo?
A: http://wizardofodds.com/blackjack/ho...alculator.html

Q: How'd you calculate the player advantage that the 2:1 promo adds?
A: http://wizardofodds.com/blackjack

Q: What is my EV of this promo
A: 1.71% * number of hands you play * amount wagered per hand

For 600 hands an hour, this is about 10 units. So if you bet $100 a hand, you can expect to earn $1,000

Q: What is the chance of me losing $x
A: From an earlier post
65% chance of finishing between -19.1 units and +39.7
95% chance of finishing between -48.5 and +69.1
99.7% chance of finishing between -77.9 and +98.5

ie ... this promo isn't for the risk averse.

Re: Party Blackjack - kickass Promo

party rigged this promo to run during my classes and force me to take a zero on a quiz.

Party could show up to my door and hand me 5k and I will still find a way to hate them because this is what they are doing right now.

did anyone click terms and conditions. under that, it says the promo runs until the 25th. as i cant play the next three days, this could matter a little more to me.

As I said, there is conflicting info on their site. In one spot they say the 19th-21st, the other they say 19th-25th. I doubt party even knows which is correct.

can someone better explain bj variance for those of us who don't know?

what's the time # of hands for these calculations?
[65% chance of finishing between -19.1 units and +39.7
95% chance of finishing between -48.5 and +69.1
99.7% chance of finishing between -77.9 and +98.5]

or am I thinking of it wrong?

Re: Party Blackjack - kickass Promo

it wouldn't help. hand rate is a function of your mouse clicking speed. you aren't waiting on other people.

multitabling would probably lower your hand rate.
