Good Luck.

couldn't disagree more. Big road win and MInnesota isn't a favorite. Week 2 is great for teams with upset wins in week 1.

very general statement. I look at each game on a game by game basis... and there are several trends directly against what you are saying.

look for week one road dogs that won, that are still dogs at home in week 2. It's 10-0 ATS in the last ten fading these teams...

I don't put much stock in trends, and trends aren't why I like this game. The Jets fit into the same trend mentioned, but I'm not playing Pats.

This is a strong Carolina team, and I believe Minnesota is overrated do in part to their Monday night road win.

Good Luck.

Minnesota overrated? Thats funny because I think they're the most underrated team in the league. They've gone 8-2 now since Brad Johnson took over at QB. With him, they're one of the best teams in the league IMO. Yet they still get no respect.

really? friendly wager that they don't make the playoffs? Any interest?

Re: Play of the Week

sure thing. I'm curious as to why you don't think a team that ended last year 7-2 and won on the road against a playoff team in week 1 is any good. They aren't a sexy team, so I think nobody wants to say they're good. But they're solid all around and play well under BJ.

your kidding about the being one of the best teams right?
they aren't even the best team in their own division.

they beat a crappy team without their star player-portis at 100%.
and they barely beat them...squeaked by

both teams looked crappy.

I don't see Carolina being as good as everyone says, SB bound etc, but there is no way Minn is a better team than Carolina...Carolina is just [censored] right now cuz of Steve Smith's injury.

This is a sucker bet. Minnestoa makes the playoffs hands down. PLaying in a division with Green Bay AND Detroit, this is silly. Minnestoa's in

They host Chicago next week; winning that makes them instant playoff contenders. Still, Minnesota is the new Jacksonville and could quietly get 10-11 wins this year.

kinda funny how everyone is agreeing now while 2 weeks ago nobody would listen.

Re: Play of the Week

I don't agree.
minn is one of those wierd teams that will either be 8-8 or 10/11-6/5...it all depends on if they squeak by. They are never going to just beat solid teams outright...it will always come down to the wire...and if the ball bounces they're way they may make the playoffs as the 6th seed...but if the ball doesnt bounce they're way they are 8-8 or worse.

Re: Play of the Week

And as these past two weeks have proved. Wash and Carolina are pretty awful compared to last year.

Pittsburgh wasn't the best team in THEIR division in 2005.

I'd say they were. cinci had a better offense but their defense sucked.

Big Ben was hurt for several games...yet they still finish with the same record as cinci...but lose on the tiebreaker.

Well, we just hafta agree to disagree then, cuz I think Cincy beats Pitt if Palmar doesn't get rolled on, but whateva.

Re: Play of the Week

Head to Head...yeah maybe...but Cinci doesn't make it out of the AFC playoffs even if they do beat Pitt with a healthy Palmer. They lose to whoever they play the following week.

Pitt wins the SB.

bumping my losing thread...

Anyway, I didn't do too bad this week. I just assumed dallas didn't cover last night, do to the day I was having. 2-3 overall. down a unit plus some juice.

Anyway, I don't really like this Minny bet... but I offered it and can't pull it back now since they're 2-0.

2 games vs detroit and green bay. 1 vs san fran, 1 vs miami, 1 vs AZ, 1 vs saint loui, and 1 vs my jets

Nice bet Fisher. also Party works for me.

Yeah, maybe if they beat Chicago, we heard all offseason how the Dolfins finishing 6-0 meant they were waltzing to the SB, etc, etc. I feel the same way about Minny now. Beat Was without Portis and then get a gift from CAR's idiocy to win last game. It's a long season, lucky for them their division is teh suck, so they might get the last playoff spot and get roasted opening round.

While this is true a win is a win in the NFL, I don't care who you're playing a road win is a big time win in the NFL and while CAR was injured its not like they are terrible now. I'm not saying MIN is going to SB or anything but if you told me you looked at MIN sked before the year and didnt have them starting 0-3 after L's @WSH,CAR,CHI then you'd be lying. So now they are at worst gonna come out of that 2-1. They will finish around 8-8 or 9-7 but if they get a couple breaks that would easily be 10-6. They already about to get thru the hardest part of the schedule. They play NE in Week 8 and then after that only 1 of 9 games is against a team with a winning record the year before so if they can be 5-2,4-3, or even 3-4 they should be able to still get to 9 wins.

Maybe because there has been a pretty big change in playoff teams from year to year. Just because a team was good or bad in 2005 doesn't mean they'll be that same team again. I know you know this. And because some people don't agree with you doesn't mean you SHOULD TYPE IN ALL CAPS!
