I even have ads - whiskeytown.blogspot.com - don't nominate me tho - I'm depressed and not writing right now - rb |
Re: What is the Best Poker Blog?
I have to agree that zeebo has the best best blog.Usually begins with a brag about the incredible amount of money he has made through the month with a graph to illustrate, swifly moving onto to other random non poker matters, bit of humour maybe a picture....and thats your lot untill next month.
Better if posted on there more often ps-Also little nuggets such as Captzeebo theorem of full houses. |

www.captzeebo.supok.net [/ QUOTE ] I just looked at this blog for the first time, and it kind of sucks. He only posts like twice a month, and most of those posts just regurgitate his results. I can think of twenty poker blogs that are better than this one. Check out some on the All-In blog monitor. |

Re: What is the Best Poker Blog?
The poker blogs I tend to enjoy most are the ones that at least occasionally veer away from strict hand-analysis. Also, there are so many f-ing poker blogs that I probably havent absorbed even a fraction of them.
I nominate: Terrence Chan: writes well, and sometimes does some really sharp/candid pieces. His rant on Matusow after last year's PCA is classic. The Poker Chronicles: whether you like or hate Maroon, he writes well and often, and is always outspoken. Natarem.com: N 82 is to young online poker players what Gered Makowitz was to the Rolling stones. Also he links to just about every single poker blog out there. Honorable mentions to Chris Fargis, Matt Matros, Zeebo, Stoxpoker, Matt Smaz, Paul Phillips, Jerrod Ankenman, Lion Tales and of course my own blog where you can find links to everything I mentioned. |
Re: What is the Best Poker Blog?
Bill Ivey, Nat Arem, Rizen, and for non-poker Paul Phillips. Maroon writes well but is not as smart as he thinks he is.

Not limited to poker, but generally the best gambling blog I've seen so far. [/ QUOTE ] Luckiest One has been a great read, but I'm worried about this. Maybe he got a book/movie deal? He seems to be a pretty good writer. |
Re: What is the Best Poker Blog?
In my mind, Shaniac's blog is the best out there. He writes better than most professionals write.

Re: What is the Best Poker Blog?
Like I've said in the past, I think my blog has been the best blog over the past 8-9 months with regards to pictures of online poker players at live events -- and I don't even really think it's close. However, I don't think I compare on poker discussion (very little), humor (not so much) or on any other level. So I guess "best" depends on what you're looking for.
Now that I'm in law school my picture content will probably change (until next summer's WSOP). PS - I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] shaniac and zeebo's blogs, but neither one updates often enough. |

Felicia Lee's is the only blog I can read without wanting to scream at the writer to STFU. Everyone else just uses their blog as their own personal BBV forum.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think I've ever put a BBV-type post on my blog. Maybe a brag or two about a friend making a WPT/WSOP FT, but that's about it. |

I feel sad admitting that I follow this one: http://wintermute-ca.livejournal.com/ [/ QUOTE ] there is a [censored] kickass part in his journal from 7/25/06: I can feel it and GODDAM IF THE RIVER ISN'T A 6 MAKING ME A HIGHER STRAIGHT. I went [censored] nuts, told empty "get back in your [censored] hole you sorry ass bitch, BOOM HEADSHOT!" and so on. also, the ribbo-wintermute battles were [censored] hilarious. ribbo had the funniest post ever but i can't find it right now. and felicia lee and paul phillips also rock. also, as referenced in my previous post: http://internetpokerpro.blogspot.com/ |
Re: What is the Best Poker Blog?
Bah, mine sucks.
I love it when people do parodies of my journal. Because they are usually so right-on. I gripe, moan, rant, then start all over again in a month or so. The whole thing started because I used to post trip reports here on 2+2. I should have just stuck with that, instead of letting some readers talk me into starting my own site. Bad decision, now it's an albatros around my frigging neck. Felicia |
Re: What is the Best Poker Blog?
I'm biased because I blog there, but I like a lot of the Live Journal poker bloggers. We do everything wrong. We post bad beat stories, boring ass hand histories, talk about how much money we won/lost in ridiculous low stakes games, and go off on stupid non-poker related tangents.
Speaking of which, isn't it past due for another FL "Why you guys suck at blogging" post to make the insecure bloggers cry? |

Speaking of which, isn't it past due for another FL "Why you guys suck at blogging" post to make the insecure bloggers cry? [/ QUOTE ] No. Not just no, but heck no. It just feeds them, fuels them on. They have one more thing to hate about me. Two years ago I posted the best and worst of poker forums and I'm still getting hate mail over that one. Almost every week I get some IM, PM, e-mail or post about the "Why your poker blog sucks" post I did in freaking January! Most of the time I respond with something like, "So not only do you suck at poker, you suck at writing, too!" Such a bunch of whiners. Felicia |

Re: What is the Best Poker Blog?
I read a great many poker blogs - probably too many for my own sanity. Here's a few that I regularly enjoy:
I usually start with Guinness and Poker as Iggy's ubber posts cover what's going on in the blogoshpere and forums. We'll have to see if he can keep this up now that he's back working a day job. I move on to Up For Poker as I think Brad "Otis" Willis is one of the best writers in the biz. And CJ and G-Rob definitely hold their own. If I'm in a dark and jaded mood, Tao of Poker is a must. No one does crack whores and the tournament scene better than Dr Pauly. I've been reading Shaniac ever since reading Peter Alson's book where he gets far more mentions than I do. As a mixed game player, I read Felicia Lee . I even liked her best and worst blog post - so there. And for an irreverent view of poker, I tune into Wicked Chops Poker . Amy Calistri |
