PPT Bay 101 thread

This thread can be used for comments about the PPT Bay 101 tournament, or for continued statements on how bad the Corboy/Seif duo are for this event.

Re: PPT Bay 101 thread

How many times did they say the A high flush draw was the draw to the nuts with Howard holding a set.

I don't remember ever yelling at The Chad or VVP on TV.

Ok, Maybe Vince ;~)

How exactly do you tell someone that you were busted by VVP?

You know these guys want to be known as a PPT champion.
Including JC Tran.

Shouldn't the producers wait until there's actually a call of an all-in on the side tables before showing what each player has? It kind of takes the suspense out of what's going to happen next if the show flips up the cards before the players do.

(And if this has already been covered in past episodes, then ignore this post.)

That is really stupid. If the table isn't a spotlight, but they know what both players have, there's not much sense in showing them sitting there deciding whether to call or fold.

Then why go to the side table at all until the all-in is called?

[/ QUOTE ]
They can "go" to the table whenever they want. Just start the edit after the all-in has been called. Since they know the hole cards, he obviously called, no reason to show him mulling it over.

I don't disagree with that, but the way they covered it, they did show, for example, Randy Jensen mulling it over with the hole cards up on the screen. It just looked like the suspense was contrived.

What a TRICKY check to the raiser by Sunar flopping the nuts on a rainbow flop.

Ok, just now

AJ all in against Lederer's JJ

Seing him dodge bullets, lose a couple of pots, then get chips back in such a calm calculated fashion was impressive. Kinda puts in perspective the patience great players have compared to the make it happen fast attitude of us regular folk.

One of the outer tables had:
-Amarillo "Dateline NBC" Slim
-Paul Magriel
-Kathy Liebert
-Scotty Nguyen (bad oily hair)
-Tom McEvoy
-2 Fat Guys I didn't know

Is this the handsomest poker table ever assembled??? If only Brian Micon had a PPT card 2 years ago.

Re: PPT Bay 101 thread

Maybe I missed something, but can someone explain this to me...

I think the hand was Jett vs. Vinh - I believe VV had K4s, and was running a bluff. Jett had top pair on the turn with an A9 in her hand, and I thought the percentages put VV at 0% on the turn, when a K on the river would have won it for him.

I am not 100% sure on the details, but I remember looking at the 0% and then trying to look at the board and understand why a K on the river wouldn't win it for him. there was no straight to be make with the K for Jett or anything.

I thought she flopped aces on that hand?

because the board was 455A. a king would make kings and fives for VV, but jett would still have aces and fives.

WTF?? Howard Lederer folds 33 after a MP limp by Victor Ramdin with the blinds at 25/50?? He would have flopped bottom set lol.

Hahaha and the announcers say it was probably the right play in EP. They frigging suck as announcers.

Imrahil 09-14-2006 04:31 PM

Re: PPT Bay 101 thread

Lol, I like that when JC Tran has QQ and is re-raised by Jett's AKs and the flop comes J96 with two spades the announcers say it's a great flop for Tran. Hands he is beating that Jett would re-raise him with AK(if it is AsKs then he is even money) and TT. Hands he is losing to : AA,KK,JJ,99. These announcers blow.

EDIT: Hahaha and she folds getting 5 to 1 on her money. LOL.

EDIT #2: ZOMG the croud sound when they show the turn card would have been an ace. ROFL

I saw the same thing. It was after the flop and I remember it showed that the player was 0% to win when I was sure he had at least 3 out. I think the turn card paired the board and then he was drawing dead.

Wait a second - K4 is not dead to A9 on a 455A board. Eh, whatever, the hand is not being recalled correctly by one or both of us. No biggie.

You should just fold QQ preflop then, since apparently there are no good flops for it.

In another thread, someone said the PPT has been cancelled. Is this true? I tried to go to the link he provided but it didnt work.
I hope not, the announcers are terrible, but I love the fact that they show the tournament from begining to end. Season Two with new announcers would be awesome.
By the way, if do you think the group of 7 that are suing WPT had their PPT cards revoked?

The criteria used for someone to have a PPT card must be quite low if they allow a nobody player like karina to have one. Only because of her husband. Her talent is nil.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. I thought i was going crazy. Do the producers really think its believable that a whole crowd of people would be watching the 25/50 blind level of a huge multi-table tourny, let alone applauding a rabbit cam? And how exactly is a "live crowd" supposed to see the rabbit cam card anyway?
