Ranking colleges by hotness of female students: Princeton > UCLA
Here's an interesting study.
[ QUOTE ] First we used thefacebook, an online college directory where virtually every student is registered, to gather pictures of girls from the class of 2008 at 10 different schools. The schools were chosen in order to provide as much diversity for the study as possible: we chose small liberal arts colleges as well as big universities from around the country, with varying levels of academic competitiveness in each case (see the schools section for the list). 35 girls were chosen at each school using a random number generator. The pictures were filed numerically, with no names recorded for anyone involved. If it wasn’t clear in a facebook picture who the actual girl was, the picture was discarded and a new random picture was chosen. Next we registered each picture on HOTorNOT.com; a website where people can rate anonymous pictures on a scale of 1 to 10 based on attractiveness. We waited until each picture had at least 300 votes (which took up to a month in some cases), and then recorded the (mean) average score. We figured that after 300 votes the picture's rating was an accurate score, especially since HOTorNOT themselves says that most picture's scores don’t change much after as few as 50 votes. After that we analyzed the sample data from the 35 girls at each school using a graphing calculator, and put our findings on this website. You can go to our results section to see what we found out. [/ QUOTE ] I'd have liked to see a bigger sample from each school -- maybe 100 women instead of 35. I'd also like to see more schools included in the study. But the basic idea here is a good one. The results: Rank School Average 1st Albion College 7.60 2nd Michigan State University 7.55 3rd University of Oregon 7.52 4th Vanderbilt University 7.49 5th University of Michigan 7.11 6th Princeton University 7.06 7th University of California, Los Angeles 6.78 8th Stanford University 6.75 9th University of Puget Sound 6.35 10th University of Chicago 6.07 |

this list is wrong without Arizona State University on it.

Re: Ranking colleges by hotness of female students: Princeton > UCLA
Yeah, I wish they would have included more schools, and more students per school.
Perhaps a larger study is in the works. Using thefacebook and HotOrNot together is a great idea, though. |

I'm not sure my alma mater even has 35 girls in the class of 2008.

Re: Ranking colleges by hotness of female students: Princeton > UCLA
all I can say is that my U of Illinois brothers know there aren't many hot chicks in Chambana (except Kurosh's gf)

Here is some empirical research I did on the The hotties of Uchicago (NSFW).

Re: Ranking colleges by hotness of female students: Princeton > UCLA
Maurile - if they ever include way more schools and have a greater sample size, this could be very useful for applicants. FWIW, Princeton (when I applied anyway) asked for a photograph to be included in the application.

1st Albion College 7.60 [/ QUOTE ] Weird, my cousin goes there, and up til now thats the only reason I'd ever heard of it. She must have some hot friends. |
Re: Ranking colleges by hotness of female students: Princeton > UCLA
Also, including places like ASU, FSU, U of Minn(trust me on this one), etc woulda made things a lot more interesting.
|
Re: Ranking colleges by hotness of female students: Princeton > UCLA
I went to princeton, I highly doubt this.
|
Re: Ranking colleges by hotness of female students: Princeton > UCLA
L.A. has hot girls galore, and so does UCLA. Hard to believe it ranked so low.
Santa Monica Community might have an even better hotness ratio, though. More girls there who weren't quite smart enough to get into UCLA, which means pretty dumb indeed. I won't explain further. |

Re: Ranking colleges by hotness of female students: Princeton > UCLA
Blarg - do you think it's possible that USC is the hottest of them all? Based on what I've seen very possible.
But really, any school with an undergrad population over 10,000 or so (I guess mainly state schools) might have the sheen of hotness, but not the actual highest concentration of hotties. I think per capita hotness is the key criterion. That's why if these jokers ever did a meaningful statistical analysis with more schools, the results would be (I bet) quite interesting. -Al Edit - GrooveNuggat, I was typing my post as you posted that pic. Trojan girls = hot. Nice. |
Re: Ranking colleges by hotness of female students: Princeton > UCLA
w/o San Diego State and UCSB, this study is useless.

Re: Ranking colleges by hotness of female students: Princeton > UCLA
UWO, University of Western Ontario not only has extremely high concentration of female hotness, but the school is 35000 undergrad, so there's girls galore. Also, while no doubt there are some uglies, the absence of ugbos is astounding. There's a hot girl everywhere you look!!! It was ranked #2 in North America by some study some1 told me next to some school in California(USC or UCLA) for having the most beautiful people, but the guys here are ugly so that brought down the average. The girls @ UWO are the hottest anywhere.(Come walk through campus in the fall or spring and try not to have a hard on throughout the entire walk.

Re: Ranking colleges by hotness of female students: Princeton > UCLA
USC might well be the hottest school. Two giant factors: the kids of all the world's beautiful women for multiple generations who moved here to become movie stars, combined with USC being The University of Spoiled Children -- rich kid/trust fund babies abound, and their rich daddies did NOT marry ugly chicks. Rich dude + world class hot women = hot rich kids.

Big2K4 - Well, I'm a little skeptical of Canadian chicks, but this NSFW U. Western Ontario Freshman Chick at least shows they're whores. (I have no idea as to the veracity of the slideshow, it's what came up on google.)
Blarg - that is a very astute analysis. Yeah the UCLA chicks are probably a little too smart to all be really hot. -Al |

you must be getting blinded by all that flesh, because on closer inspection, maybe 3 of those chicks are hot.

Re: Ranking colleges by hotness of female students: Princeton > UCLA
I saw this article a while back from Kirk Herbstreit, one of ESPN's College Gameday football analysts. All this guy does is go around the country visiting college campuses (probably macking chicks at tailgate parties...), anyway, his opinion might mean something, or it might mean crap...anyway, here's his lineup of Prettiest Coeds, in no particular order:

I find the 'Ole Miss thing fascinating.
I saw the Manning brothers at a NYC bar the night Eli was drafted and his girlfriend was not attractive. |

I went to princeton, I highly doubt this. [/ QUOTE ] As a fellow alum, I can back Wayfare up on this. My guess is that the OP either also applied to Harvard, or read this recent article in the New Yorker about Ivy League admissions. Princeton was a place where students of both genders put a great deal of effort into their appearances; a much higher proportion of students dressed well and had their weight under control than on most campuses. Dear Old Nassau may not have had as many naturally attractive people as many big state schools, but the average person in the Princeton environment ended up looking much better than the average person somewhere else. scrub |

The girls @ UWO were so much better than Tennessee, no comparison at all. |
