so let me get this new WPEX thing straight
the downloaded hand histories do NOT have opponents names in them?
|
Re: so let me get this new WPEX thing straight
You are correct. My only question is if this is permanant or not. I kind of like it.
|
Re: so let me get this new WPEX thing straight
I heard there is no rake.

Re: so let me get this new WPEX thing straight
If it's a glich, we'll hear about it shortly. I'm surprised the GM hasn't commented on this yet.
|
Re: so let me get this new WPEX thing straight
I don't think it's a glitch, I remember it being discussed before as a way to prevent datamining/huds while still allowing self tracking.

[/ QUOTE ] So will you still be able to get full HH with player names through email? I think I like this!! WPEX kicks ass again (aside from the fact they won't let me cashout because of a $30 sportsbook bonus that I have called them twice about and told them I don't want so let me cash TF out, but it still doesn't work.) |
Re: so let me get this new WPEX thing straight
No names is by design.
Ding dong, please PM me your name and I will find out why they haven't released the funds. |

I still [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] WPEX. So, GM, can you still get HH via email with player names? |
Re: so let me get this new WPEX thing straight
You can't get HHs through email any longer. As far as the bonus goes, just put a 150 dollar bet on a football game this weekend. You'll be getting 10-11, plus your 30 dollar bonus, so it's easily +EV. It will also make the game alot more interesting.

I'm trying to lose that bonus and I just can't do it. I keep picking winners! |
no player names in the HH a bad decision
the software, connection trouble etc. was worth the trouble because of no rake. I doubt that it is anymore. O god...back to party I go I guess

Re: so let me get this new WPEX thing straight
I dunno, you have to wager like 10X the bonus or something to clear it and I'm not going to lay that much action before I need the funds.

[ QUOTE ] No names is by design. [/ QUOTE ] Won't this attract colluders? How do you plan to secure the integrity of the games? [/ QUOTE ] How does this attract colluders? A player looking at his hand histories soon after the hand was played will remember who each player was. Blocking out opponents names should have no effect on the player other than making it impossible to track opponents long term, and I'm sure WPX maintains records with all of the player's names intact. |

It beats not receiving them by a wide margin, at least. |

No names is by design. [/ QUOTE ] I like it. Allows people to use PT to look at their own play and find leaks, but not to data-mine or use HUDs against opponents. |
you can block data mining without losing ability
to track opponents at your own table.

i doubt this helps, but Mr. WPEX GM
I will be taking all my sportsbook business elsewhere for now. I'll be back when the opponents names are in the hand histories.
|
Re: i doubt this helps, but Mr. WPEX GM
anyone want to put up the english.cab file for download and tell me where it goes so i can get the friggin software to work?
|
Re: so let me get this new WPEX thing straight
We might have leaks against a certain type of players and now it will be impossible for us to find'em. I think it's our right to have a record of the complete hand histories and track everyones play if we've been dealt cards. I recently bought Poker Tracker only to play at WPEX and now it's completely worthless.
Comeon, hiding the players names???? That's completely ridiculous. How do you play multitable?? It's donkey stuff. Great donkey work. |

Re: i doubt this helps, but Mr. WPEX GM
Why don't you want the names in the hand histories???????????
I simply don't get it. |
Re: i doubt this helps, but Mr. WPEX GM
Great news IMO

Re: i doubt this helps, but Mr. WPEX GM
Huds=semi-bot hud multi tablers. semibot hud multi tablers make the games tough (ala absolute). Harder games drive away alot of traffic. So by keeping you those winey hudbots unhappy, they got drive more traffic to their site via poker then otherwise. Do you really think sportsbook and casino customers wanna play on tables that are filled with nothing but multi tabling tags?
I'd suggest people learn to play poker w/o huds, or they go to another site. Sitting here and wineing to wsex GM as if he has not taken the pro's and con's of the situation into account is just kinda annoying. You don't wanna play w/o huds, go play somewhere else. Its not the end of the world ya buncha wankers. Its just poker. |
Registering a complaint about a new system is not \"wineing\"
but I would be happy to send the GM a bottle of pino if you think it will help.
...or did you mean "whine?" |

Re: i doubt this helps, but Mr. WPEX GM
Those players wanna play regardless the competition they'll find. They don't care about it. They just sit there, throw a couple of chips away and that's all. They're there to gamble. And that's fine to me, but it's our right to get the complete hand histories and play multitable if we want to. I play at 0,50/1 so it's not that important to me (even though I might not win as much as I won b4) but the guys at higher levels are not supposed to be gamblers (or maybe they are, I don't know) and I suppose that ALL of them want the complete hand histories.
|
Re: i doubt this helps, but Mr. WPEX GM
In fairness, I think the WPEXGM listened to both sides of the arguement and decided that no names in HH was a good compromise.
Personally, my game isn't strong enough for WPEX and I rely on good table selection to make most of my $$. Without being able to get info on the players I play against, I will be staying at Absolute and Prima. I am very dissapointed, though hopefully the site will grow and there will be enough fish where I wont have to worry about sitting down at 5/6 max and being the worst player at the table. |

[/ QUOTE ] EDIT FOR TONE: I disagree. You don't have a right to the hand histories at all. Just check out Titan, no hand histories on hard drives or emailed. If you don't like it, don't play there. There are a ton of different sites with a ton of different setups. Pick the one you like the best. You may not be able to have your cake and eat it too, though. I like the new setup, no datamining, HUDS, AND you don't have to wait 30 minutes to one hour to see what someone was calling down with. |
Re: i doubt this helps, but Mr. WPEX GM
Is it necessary to be rude??? Can't argue politely??? Just expose your pros and cons and I'll happily discuss about them.
|
Re: so let me get this new WPEX thing straight
this pleases me very much.
I no longer will assume WPX is run by the same kind of intellects that run party poker. |
Re: i doubt this helps, but Mr. WPEX GM
If you care about what people call down with I guess you want the hand histories. Aren't you recording their play by taking notes?? PT makes it a looooooooot easier.
Titan doesn't save the hand histories in the hard drive, but PokerOffice does record them. |
