Why is it impossible to fold a hand when you flop the nuts that turns into the non-nuts against heavy action?

No, don't you understand? If you flop a good hand, then you just ride it all the way to the river. This is especially the case if you've recently also flopped good hands that haven't won.

erby 09-04-2006 09:32 PM

Re: HSP 9/04

hey...the calculator that the show uses does not take into account dead hands like the WSOP does it? With the dead 9c 9s, wasn't grey actually behind?

I thought he changed that to donating his net tournament winnings to charity since last year?

The props are becoming sorta annoying, in my opinion. But on the other hand, the players are behaving naturally just like they would in any poker game, so I guess that's pretty good.

What happened at the end there with Gabe Kaplan? Was he really pissed? I definitely heard him tell the other host to go [censored] himself. Was that for real or just bad acting?

yeah, it looks like their odds did not take the dead 9s into account, shoulda been like 57-43 with AK ahead. I thought they looked funny.

The percentages they show refer to the odds the player has of winning the whole pot if all players remain in the hand. So if you have 9's against someone else with 9's and there is a 3rd person in the hand, the odds of a 9's person winning are extremely small (have to flush to win)and the "non nine" person has a great chance of winning the whole pot. You may have noted that the second Juanda folded, the percentages changed to 57-43.

No, you misunderstood what he was saying. Since two nines are dead, AK becomes the favorite to win.

Wow pros play bad.

Daniel paying off with a straight when it's a clear fold.

Lindgren raising Eli with the OESD+Flush draw after betting each street after raising preflop on a KsQsXx Td board.

Juanda reraising with 99 in bb after a tight player raised and a solid player calls in small blind, and then folding to Greenstein's all in getting 2 to 1 (although this is a small error if any at all)

Grey folding 99 to Greenstein getting 2 to 1.

Eli calling a raise and a reraise out of position with KJ and c/r a J32 flop, and then pot commiting himself on the 4 turn (although to be honest, it does seem like it's a set but Eli is too loose for Erick to give Eli that much credit).

1.) david grey: lol. he's hilarious and the constant tormented face he makes is priceless.

2.) lotta bad plays tonight but these guys are still better than me. leaps and bounds, baby.

3.) when i saw the thing at the end with AJ and Gabe, i yelled out to my wife, "HONEY, GET A LOOK AT THIS! AJ'S ABOUT TO GET KTFO BY GABE! JUST LIKE HE DID BY CHUCK ZITO OH [censored]!"

cool.

I just meant that he was good at fiddling around with his chips. He was cutting them off and shuffling them up really fast. It was like he was spastic.

I think the Kaplan/Benza routines from the last two episodes have got to go. Painfully unfunny.
