How would you play it?
Pretty loose and passive game, none of the opponents is overly aggressive, I did't have enough stats on them, just played couple of rounds.

Re: How would you play it?
usually fold preflop, but whatever
I'd raise the turn and take a free SD. as played bet river. |
Re: How would you play it?
I think I'd probably want one or two more callers here to overlimp from MP2 with these cards.
I'm finding the turn donk bet has more substance when there's been no previous show of strength in the hand. That said, I got donked seven different times yesterday by dudes that just paired the turn and though YEAH that guy was bluffing with his flop bet LOL. I say raise the turn, take the free showdown. As it played, yes, you bet the river, you have to play top pair strong at these limits. |
Re: How would you play it?
If SB just made a straight, we would likely get 3-bet on our free SD play. I like calling the turn bet better.
You're right, as played, bet the river. |
Re: How would you play it?
and if you are 3-bet on the turn you are screwed and folding is really easy.

Re: How would you play it?
Ok, and I guess with the extra equity from the caller in the middle, that more than makes up for not seeing a showdown. Sounds good.

We're drawing at 5 outs on the two pair, 2 outs on the set, and dead to the straight. Let's say that's maybe 3 outs. If he's capable of a check-raise semi-bluff, we are sitting at the wrong table LOL. If you call the turn bet, you're putting in another bet on the river. If his hand is made now or on the river, you pay the same as if you raise and he calls. If he makes his hand on the river after you raise, he will try to check-raise you and you will outsmart him by checking behind hah hah. If you are ahead and stay that way, you win the same. And if he takes you to three-town, you can pretty safely fold in this medium sized pot with only 3 or so outs to continue. So I stick to my guns and raise the turn. |

[/ QUOTE ] Nitpick: Actually, we are dead against a set and have between 3 and 9 outs on the two pair dependng on exactly which two pair it is. (In any case the conclusion is the same.) |
Re: How would you play it?
check river. would get check raised by straight, 2 pair (loose game, not out of the question) or a pocket overpair. bail or make a crying call if raised.

Re: How would you play it?
Raise the turn. UTG is on a draw and pads your odds.
As played, bet the river. It's very likely that sb was on a straight draw and paired on the turn, maybe with a flush draw. If so, he'll call your river bet. |

[/ QUOTE ] It's really, really uncommon for someone to donk bet the turn and then try to get in a c/r on the river when a rag rivers. I think we're safe from sb. Likewise, UTG would surely have bet the river if he had top pair or better. This is a pretty safe river bet. I would expect to: see both opponents fold about half the time; see someone call with a hand that beats me occasionally; get c/red almost never. |
Re: How would you play it?
true. didnt put a whole lot of thought into this post.

[/ QUOTE ] This was the reason I did not raise, although I was thinking of raising. I cannot protect my hand in this pot, flush and str8 draws still have the right odds even if my hand is still the best (which I can't be sure of). Plus overcards that may come on the river. I'm not a math genius of course so I couldn't calculate the reversed odds that qiuckly but I fugured that it was about half of the deck. So I just called. |
