A few years ago I was dumb, stupid, and a degenerate. Well, not really much has changed. But I did scam some people on 2+2 for some money. Not a huge amount, maybe a thousand in total. What I did was wrong and I am willing to compensate anyone I scammed. If you were scammed by me, please contact me by private message. Once I have repayed everyone I obviously consent to being banned.

It looks like he's here more or less voluntarily offering to pay back the people that he scammed. There are a lot of people who would be willing to scam strangers for $1000, not so many who would choose to come clean and ultimately correct their mistakes.

I don't really know the story behind this, but from what I can tell the OP deserves a little slack for making this gesture.

Well, the story is that the stunning detective skills of Dean. in BBV found out that Kaz = Andrew Karpinsky = StupidAcesSigh and tied him to scamming Granny Mae, severely marring the name of a semi-respected poster. While I'm shocked that a scammer would keep posting here AND thinks he can keep his rep in tact, I am impressed that he's trying to make amends.

He probably has money now from the money he made from what he stole from the many posters at this site. With this new money he can make amends for what he did and everything is alright? Wait till his money depletes again and the degenerate returns. If he hadn't made this money back do you think he would have still felt obligated to return it? Definitely not. I'm sure it was against his moral integrity when he did it, but he's still a douchebag. By repaying the debts, I don't think it nearly makes makes up for what he did.

I have no intention of posting here after I finish repaying the people I have scammed; my reputation is obviously tarnished on twoplustwo forever. I will continue to lurk the strat forums because I do play alot of poker. I simply want to put things right.

I don't think I necessarily need to know how or whom he scammed to make a preliminary judgment regarding his effort to pay back the people he wronged.

If you know more about the situation than me and you feel he has ulterior motives for making this post, then so be it. But if all you know about it is what was posted here, then I think you're being too harsh.

Repaying the debts does not morally acquit me from what I did, but it is something I must do. I did not make money off the scamming (I lost it all immediately on the poker sites, I was a horrible player and a degenerate).

As far as semi-respected, I didn't really know what to say in that spot. It's obvious he posts a lot (the combined post count of all his accounts must rival or surpass El D), so it's not like I can call him a n00b or unknown. And while he's been repeatedly banned from OOT, there were quite a few people in the BBV thread who said they liked him. I was very confused reading them, but you can see the thread for yourself. There was more love for this scammer than there was for Granny Mae.

what youre doing is honorable, but the problem i have with it is that now youre doing it after probably having made 100k+ from online poker, so 1k is meaningless to you. you stole the money before because 1k was significant to you. just because 1k is probably insignificant to you now doesnt mean that you deserve retribution for paying it back. you are probably still the same low life scum and if you had the opportunity to steal for a sum of money that is now meaningful to you, youd probably take it.

regardless, i think in order to be further redeemed, but not entirely so for your crime, you should offer to repay back more than the 1k. i think you should literally offer 3.

This is kind of amazing. I admit to being fond of Andrew Karpinski. But, I guess I was just fond of the creation. I wasn't around for Kaz, but I was around for the two above, and I found them loathesome.

Also the reason I didn't xfer to you last time (a year ago) was because I asked you exactly how much it was and you said an amount more than I owed you. Obviously the claim for interest or whatever can be made but I was kinda peeved that I was attempting to repay you and you were lying to me about the amount. Not that I have any moral ground to stand on but that was the reason I didn't repay you then.

Even though you were only asked for $500, I hope you pay back the full $615+ something for interest/trouble whatever you want to call it.

Everybody has done things they regret, not everybody makes up for it. Hope you follow though, and well done if you do or have already.

Also I think you should continue to post here with this ID. Many people seemed to enjoy your AK posts, and it is better to face up to the pissed and be straightforward about who you are and what you have done then to create a new fake ID and hide from the truth, or run away. I believe it will help you grow as a person and make you a better asset to these forums. Of course you will have to bear some well deserved anger, but ultimately, a lot of people seemed to like you and many will forgive you. Many won't. But I suggest you face it head on. Good luck.
