Tonight is $25+1 Pot Limit Hold'em on Stars as the King of the Zoo series continues at 9PM ET. I've posted a standings update on the website. I sent the password to the distribution list and will post it before game time on this thread.

30 minutes to take off and this thread is dead.

Nice job with the Kotz site Mark. A shame that more than half of the names are only PS handles. We don't even know anymore who we are playing against. People don't even bother to say who they are at 2+2.

Suggestion for Kotz 2007: 1000 posts or more and no secrety about your PS name.

Let's keep it a veteran + few accepted newbies tourney. The rest of the crowd can start their own boring tourney.

I think people don't show up because it's not attractive anymore. Better quality of posters/players would increase the number of participants... I think...

If it's become less attractive it's because the community has become diluted. Which, of course, sounds vaguely like what you where talking about originally. I still don't like the idea of exclusion.

Right now, there is no conversation whatsoever at the tables. I remember the times where you had to be scrolling all the time not to miss what was going on.


I'm not saying it's anybody's fault, just that some changes have to be made if the Kotz wants to survive. As it is now, it's just another tightie tourney at stars.

PS and 2+2 names don't necessary have to be the same.
I'm sure most of the "veterans" know who I am at stars.

I was not complaining about the mismatch. I was complaining about too many players not telling who they are at 2+2.

I don't know, I think that I made every effort to donk it up as much as possible. [img]/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]

I agree that it's not as fun or wild as it used to be, and hope that we can do something to improve both attendance and enjoyment.

I don't have any suggestions to offer off the top of my head; although at one point I remember offering to "chat dirty" at some of these for $1/min and give virtual lap dances at the table. Would this help?

It comes down to the fact that Thursdays are hard for a lot of people and the sense of community isnt as much here in the zoo as it used to be. I would help with the KOTZ and have already sent a PM to Ed before with no reply. The infusion of an MTT mod would bring bigger fields of active posters and maybe could do something with this. I already run tournaments regularly anyway so I would be willing to help with this if my help is wanted.
