Att: Last years\' 2+2 Dynasty FF owners

For everyone who particpipated in the initial year of the dynasty league assembled here last year (ran by MarkL and Bugstud), please post here or get your contact information to MarkL. Yahoo's leagues from last year appear to be out of commission, and no one has a master e-mail list.

Not much time until the season begins, and there's a lot to be done, especialy if we lose any owners from last year. If you have any contact info on other players from last year, pass it along.

I am about start some more school in addition to my normal job and some other outside projects, which means fairly limited time. I was planning on just participating when I could, but if a trusted poster that people feel will do a good job wanted to take over, Id be fine with that. Also note that the rosters arent right and my team doesnt have Alexander and LJ. Should be Edge instead of LJ and Burress instead of Horn...

Re: Att: Last years\' 2+2 Dynasty FF owners

i think what we are doing is this:

there are a few people who cant do it anymore, but there is interest in others taking over so that's fine. we have a pretty good core of people.

we take the rosters of the people who are leaving and combine all those players into a pool. then the new people redraft from that pool. there are a lot of quality players in there so the news teams will immediately be competitive. then we will do a rookie draft with everyone. me and bugstud will contact people and get this moving.

Also, Del's Drinkas is a pal o' mine (as well as a fellow lover of Del's lemonade) -- N4TE91 on aim. Doesn't come in here but is returning for the season as well.

what team was i taking over? maybe i would have taken over danvh's roster which is loaded, then i'd end up with a worse team than i would've had. It's a great idea, because if multiple teams are being replaced, its not fair to give one person a loaded team and another person a bottom of the barrel team.

Re: Att: Last years\' 2+2 Dynasty FF owners

Excellent to see things are coming together. Mark- do we still have the divisions from last year, and are we maintaining them? AOL and some others allow multiple divisions in free leagues, but if we were going to switch that would be another thing to work out in a hurry.

For those just joining up, Bugstud was kickass enough to pay for a premium Yahoo league last year out of his own pocket to get us divisions.

Any developments? I will be away from Friday morning until Monday night, so I'm hoping we can get the ball rolling as soon as possible. If a rookie draft was taking place I could leave a list, but as of last year we had no firm decision on how many players we would be rostering, and thus how many rounds/veteran cuts etc.

cut 2 from roster, 4 round rookie/leftovers draft after iggy and mebenhoe draft from dissolved rosters.

I'm on the most jacked up sleep schedule right now, making coordination of this stuff difficult. Stuff will be done over aim and should be pretty quick given the brevity compared to full roster draft.

it was $50 last year. we discussed upping it to $100. send $ to bugstud.

Re: Att: Last years\' 2+2 Dynasty FF owners

So it's $100?

How about a few more details before I agree. Scoring? Starters? How is FA worked? What site are we playing on?

Any other info I might be leaving out.

Re: Att: Last years\' 2+2 Dynasty FF owners

Actually, I think I got to pull out. My boy is coming into town tomorrow and I won't be able to work out a draft til next Wednesday at the earliest.

Me and ME missed each other today so it doesn't look like it'll work.

Mark L 08-30-2006 10:43 PM

Re: Att: Last years\' 2+2 Dynasty FF owners

i think it's staying at $50. we play on yahoo. scoring is pretty standard (only thing i think is different is 0.5 pts for receptions). everything else is very standard. 4pt passing tds. also the points are fractions, so each rushing yards is 0.1 pts, you dont have to get 10 yards to get a point. it's a pretty solid league. we have a really good group of guys with the exception of billyjex who is now gone. if iggy is out i got a guy probably.

edit- nvm i do not have a guy...

Does anyone have the draft order by chance? Was it 5,7,9,12,6,10,8,11,4,3,2,1?

I believe there were a couple trades too. I think Del's Drinkaz obtained O'Donoghue's Triad's first pick in the Eli/Daunte trade, and was there also a draft pick included in the Jamal Lewis / Cedric Benson transaction? Lastly, what about the draft picks of the teams that are being taken over? Seems like the most fair method could be to just include the draft picks of those teams in the small takeover redraft -- or maybe give one manager choice of pick in the team redraft, and the other the choice of pick in the rookie draft...

For convenice, final standings:

1 Spanish Pantalones
2 Run Willis Run
3 Tinfoil Helmets
4 Warmongering Dillo
5 Bugstud
6 The Fun Bunch
7 Ron Mexico's Ho's
8 Del's Drinkaz
9 O'Donoghue's Triad
10 Berlin Bombers
11 GAMBOOOL
12 Custer's Brigade

this is the problem me and bugstud are having. yahoo saved the rosters, and also the results of the top 8 playoff teams, but not the bottom 4.

we thought about just doing the first 4 picks in reverse order of record/points because we don't know what else to do.

UncleRemus 08-31-2006 10:14 AM

Re: Att: Last years\' 2+2 Dynasty FF owners

Did the bottom four teams play during the playoff weeks? I thought that weeks 15 and 16 there were games for the top 8 teams and the bottom 4 didn't play, but admittedly I didn't pay much attention to that. So are you saying the first four picks would go to the 12th team, 11th team, 10th team, then 9th team? It doesn't really affect me either way, considering I'm picking 9th no matter what, but the guys who did well in the consolation bracket (Ron Mexico's Ho's and especially Bugstud, who locked up Bush by winning) are really getting screwed. If they are fine with that, though, it'd be pretty hard for anyone else to complain.

well, the bottom 4 teams did play, but it wasn't shown on yahoo since the league was set a certain way. we were just going to keep track of it ourselves, but apparently we didnt (i expected yahoo to save scores for those teams at least).

i could easily step in and make a draft order based on what we have available and what i think is most fair, or we could just go in reverse order of points scored or something like that. let's get some input on this.

also we don't know where the new guys should pick. they can't pick where their team would have picked because one did very well and one did very poorly. i suggest putting them either at the end, or just ahead of the playoff teams.

not to make this harder on you, but I don't think we should be penalized for stepping in and helping out. My suggestion to bugstud was that the 2 new teams draft positions should be chosen randomly, with the rest of the teams filling in around them in the order that was specified last season.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I definitely don't envy your position, Mark, sorry this has turned into such a clusterfuck. Anyway, if it's this messed up, why don't we just completely randomize it? Or if we're going for parity, perhaps an informed and unbiased third party on here would be willing to rank the twelve teams overall rosters (taking into consideration both the present and future value of players) and we could pick from worst to first? Just a couple more ideas... Personally, I think the most fair method possible (if that's the goal) would be to use the draft order that was originally decided upon, and just use either final standings or final points to rank teams 9-12, while -- I hope this makes sense -- including the rookie draft picks in the team redraft for the two new teams, so that they can decide themselves what those picks are worth.

Edit - Though it'd be a slight pain in the balls, we could also rank teams 9-12 by looking at final rosters of those teams, calculating the fantasy points of all those team's players using the leagues format, and making the starters their best case scenario for that week...
