What? Eli has the best hand with a weak ace? Is the card display wrong or is the announcing just wrong?

Either Gabe simply misspoke or there was a bad editing job done (or both - that mistake should have been caught). Given that the commentary is done AFTER editing, then the commentators are relying on the same card information we are.

I see in the previews that Ted Forrest shows up next week. I'm looking forward to that. I enjoy watching him play.

Other than Gus' overpair against Lindgren's big draw, this was a pretty uneventful show, imo.

Yeah, IMO, I think they waste too much time showing people hollywood before folding. I'm not sure what the solution is, since it would be lame if every time they showed somebody think about calling, they called. Still, it's lame to sit there and watch a player think for a coule minutes before folding 3rd pair.

I thought Gus betting pot on the river with JT and trips was an interesting move. I was thinking check/call, since there were missed draws. DN can't fold a better hand and probably folds worse. Then again, maybe Gus read him as tilting and thought the payoff wizard would strike again.

It was risky, but in line with his aggressive game plan. I think he really thought he was chopping or barely winning, and thought there was a decent chance Daniel would lay down the same hand if he bet.

Obviously though, he was risking having to fold to a raise.

I would have check/called, for sure.

Yeah, Gabe was saying the producers should squash the prop bets in the next season, but I think they're fine. They should just make them less mysterious. I've never seen somebody hold a menu of prop bets before. What's on that menu?

I think in the last episode I heard Doyle say something which suggested one of the props was betting on the ranks of the cards on each flop. Doyle had something like 9,5,2 and Eli had something like T,5,4.

I'm sure there are many more props.

I never knew Juanda was a high ball big time large balla. What was with his interview when he said something about how he was willing to play because they were playing high stakes. Something about how the game was big enough to suit him.

He mispoke and not only that but later on he miscalled again on another hand. It was kind of odd since they only do this after the taping. Another odd thing in this show were the percent graphics showing both Gus and Daniel at 0% while the other 2 or 3 had some percentages there on the J hand. It was only after everyone folded to them that the 100% tie graphic popped up. That was simply a piss poor job of producing.

Overall this episode lacked any real oomph but it may be a bridge to a more high stakes style of play with Juanda, Grey and Lindgren sitting down. After all, Lindgren's call of another $105,000 on his first hand with only a draw was something that almost no one else on this show has done. Shows that he has a lot of gamble and that makes for good TV.

I do sorta agree with what somebody else said about running it twice. I do like watching the action in true form. If they really run it twice, then I like to see them run it twice. On the other hand, it would be more interesting if they weren't given that option. Several times running it twice has split the pot. Without that option, we'd have seen some people lose some massive pots, which would probably either result in:

1) them busting and moping away from the table to be replaced, or

2) them tilting from losing such a monster.

Like, what if EDog had lost that beast?

I would rather watch real high stakes poker, then "better tv"

Real high stakes poker involves running it twice, insurance, prop bets, and mixed games a lot of the time. To make it "better tv" by taking out the running it twice option, you might as well call it the World High Stakes Poker Tour.

Wow, are you annoying. Trust me - he was referring to the fact that Eli had the best hand of what was remaining. Do you honestly think that with 5 people in the production booth and the graphics up while he's announcing that he would make that mistake? If you think yes, I can't argue with you - you're just too dumb to be argued with.

Gabe's commentating seemed to be at an all-time annoying high last night. Specifically, when he was he was comparing Eli's (I believe it was Eli) bet to a football game beer vendor - “KING HIGH FLUSH HERE, GET YOUR KING HIGH FLUSH HERE, ETC., ETC.” - he frikkin did that for a solid 30 seconds non-stop! OK, we get it, ha ha, good one, now STFU.

Yes, we can honestly believe that he made this mistake (and one other during this show) because it was pretty obvious. Maybe the producers decided to let it stand as a way to make things appear more "real"? As far as re-editing goes, just look at the 2002 WSOP ME that Varkoni won and Gabe called. They still haven't re-edited that one to fix the blatant editing sequence blunders.
