Received a call from PP, should I feel special?
Ealier today for the first time ever PP called me out of the blue. Some guy who stating he worked for PP, inviting me to a all expenses payed trip to Vegas from 9/5-9/10, stating there was a tournament against 12 professional players which was going to be televised. 1st place wins $500,000. Tournament entry fee is covered by PP. He said they had selected "pre screened VIP players." After I told him I couldn't make it there that week, he gave me his personal contact information, stating if I had any problems w/ PP I should contact him directly. Anyone else get this call?

So if Tizerd was invited it makes me think Party is trying to get their twelve biggest online winners and then put them against twelve live name pros and see who comes on top, which sounds like an interesting format. Can any other 2000NL regular confirm they've been approached by Party with this sort of deal? Will we see the dragons battle it out on TV vs. Negreanu, Matusow, Ferguson and so on?

The good news is that you can still party with hoes at college. Although $500,000 would certainly be a better ice breaker than your usual "i'm a well respected poster on an internet poker forum" lines.

It would be pretty hialrious. I mean, i would explain to her the value of a suited connecter in a multiway pot with deep stacks and she would probably cold call a push with it. Some of it also has to do with her work schedule... I was/am very bummed that i will have to pass on this oppurtunity to make a name for myself, but i guess hopefully i am young enough that a few more oppurtunities will present themself....

dude it's a Sit N Gonkament, push preflop, 1 or 2 steals thrown in, then wait for the blinds to get huge, push and hope for the best. Sounds like a decent chance at 3rd or 4th which should be ~100k?

I've logged 85K hands on Party 10/20 NL over the past year with a PT BB/100 of 3.5 Any ideas at all what the qualifications are they're using? Thanks, - dB |
