2/4 Set, but flushcard hits on river
What to do here? Villain has only been at the table for an orbit and did nothing remarkable.

Re: 2/4 Set, but flushcard hits on river
Fold, there is a one card straight out and the flush.
That is too much money to call when most of the time your set is not good. |
Re: 2/4 Set, but flushcard hits on river
I slam my fist on my desk, and then fold.
He played it like a draw, and the draw got there. If he floated OOP for two streets for PSBs with a hand that you beat, he earned the pot. |

Re: 2/4 Set, but flushcard hits on river
i'm really bad at making folds like these.

I would never c/c twice with a FD here, but I could imagine calling down here with TPTK or so against an unknown (and then taking a chance to bluff out a better hand when the perfect scare card hits). Maybe I'm just being results oriented though as he showed KQ. |

[/ QUOTE ] i [censored] hate people who call this turn w/ the fd (when it gets there), but u probably gotta respect it unless uve cn him bluff here some |

i'm really bad at making folds like these........well the other option is calling that huge river bet and i thinks its seldom worthwhile if ever.

Re: 2/4 Set, but flushcard hits on river
I probably use the time bank but end up folding.

Re: 2/4 Set, but flushcard hits on river
I think its a pretty easy, albeit irritating, fold.

Re: 2/4 Set, but flushcard hits on river
fold is good. Looks like a draw and everything got there. Also, if he has two pair and puts you on AA/KK/AQ, he'd either bet less or let you fire again. If he has KQ, sort of same deal, though he might block/value for about a third. Basically looks like hand or bluff, and I dont know what he'd be bluffing with.

Re: 2/4 Set, but flushcard hits on river
If he really made his flush wouldn't you think he'd bet less than a PSB, knowing you're probably paying him off? Seems silly to bet so much if he really got there.

I would never c/c twice with a FD here [/ QUOTE ] You are not villian. Also, he could have a combo draw of some kind. |
Re: 2/4 Set, but flushcard hits on river
I would tell you to fold but in practice I would likely call and give up a huge portion of my stack. This is probably the biggest weakness in my game - I often refuse to believe that a FD will call a pot sized bet because it's such poor play as far as pot and implied odds. A combo draw is possible if you put the villain on suited connectors after that preflop raise. A good laydown when you have no reads.
