Or do you go broke here? Anyone recommend pushing preflop? |
Re: $22: Can you fold here?
oops read orign post wrong
yea its a fold on flop |
Re: $22: Can you fold here?
i can fold this and i sleep fairly well

Never fold this preflop. RR to 400. Call any push. [/ QUOTE ] i'm sure he meant, "can you fold this after the ace hits on the flop" |
Re: $22: Can you fold here?
This is really the most standard laydown there is. Raise to 400 preflop, IMO, and c/f this flop. I'd also suggest you move down to the 10s if this is a difficult laydown for you (Ideally you'd play 5$ SNGs but the rake is huge on PPoker).

[18:17:35] <DF_Newbie> check out the KK thread
[18:17:45] <DF_Newbie> can i get away from KK when an ace flops? [18:17:48] <Oxy_> ... [18:17:51] <DF_Newbie> that [censored] makes me angry [18:18:57] <nuggetz87> newbie [18:19:00] <nuggetz87> he folded preflop yeah, i know it's hard to believe. edit: also read wrong fold flop obv |

My standard line is to fold on the flop bet but at the 22s I see so much [censored] that I beat I was wondering if it is profitable to push here. Just getting others opinions. Also, 22s players = 11s players = 6s players, there are just a few more pushbotters at the 22s than at the 11s or 6s. |
Re: $22: Can you fold here?
If you see so much [censored] that you beat, why not c-bet and see how he reacts?
As played (checked and looking at a bet of 780), easy fold. |
Re: $22: Can you fold here?
If I check-folded every time an over came to my PP I would be missing out on money... This hand however, was so terribly misplayed from every angle that I see no point in commenting, especially since the OP didn't play it.

Re: $22: Can you fold here?
c-bet is my standard line, wasnt me playing here though. I agree with your decision.
|
Re: $22: Can you fold here?
Why are you posting a hand you didn't play, especially if you already know you'd play it differently
Something reeks in the state of Denmark |
Re: $22: Can you fold here?
Maybe its just short term thinking, UTG+1 flipped up a pair of nines and sucked out on the turn, lately I have seen a lot of non ace hands and am wondering whether not folding kings could be +EV. And no, this wasn't me.
|
Re: $22: Can you fold here?
The blinds are small and the pot is not that big on the flop so I would say easy fold on the flop.
50 % of the time I raise all-in preflop with KK and 50 % of the time I rase 15xBB pre-flop. It's unbeliveable what hands people are willing to gamble with early on. |
Re: $22: Can you fold here?
So you folded kings preflop to a small raise? Either your terrible at poker this was a stupid joke.
|
Re: $22: Can you fold here?
The only thing I needed to see:
SB is in Button with K K No. |
Re: $22: Can you fold here?
There are scenarios where this play is optimal, but involves spots where the ratio of one of the stacks involved to the pot is close to 1:1. This is not the case here, so I would bet the flop and end the hand there.
|
Re: $22: Can you fold here?
I could see a cbet, a c/f, or perhaps even calling a bet on the flop here. A c/r here seems insane unless you're sure somehow you're ahead. (And I don't see how you'd know that unless you "knew" that the villain only bet >PSBs if he had <TP)

Re: $22: Can you fold here?
C-bet the flop, fold to resistance.
Against a villain who tends to underbet his big hands I may check-call this flop to see if I pick up a straight or flush draw on the turn, but we're talking about a guy who's likely to bet no more than 80 into a pot of 720... Rare. |

C-bet the flop, fold to resistance. [/ QUOTE ] On $22, I really like this line. Many people with JJ, QQ or a wiffed set attempt will fold to a C-bet. |
