$11r - JJ w/ 13 BB\'s

PartyPoker $11 Regular Tournament, Big Blind is t100 (7 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com

UTG (t890)
Hero (t1310)
MP1 (t7585)
CO (t1350)
Button (t3180)
SB (t2350)
BB (t3335)

Preflop: Hero is in UTG+1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG calls t100, Hero?

Normally I'd pop this to 350-400 or even limp behind in some situations. Anybody just like the push here given my stack?

Positively push. Raising less than AI in this early of a position, with this many behind is not good.

meh i dont mind raising to 400. you need to get a stack at some point, so why not get a caller or two. i'm almost always getting it in on the flop though, unless some guy like pushes an ace high flop before i can act.

Ugh. I hate raising for 1/3 my stack here. If you're getting your money in w/ almost any flop why not just push in the first place?

I guess the thought there would be to try to make a little money with the hand by getting a PF caller or two, then taking it down with a flop push.

I just don't think this is the place for a stop and go. Are you pushing every flop? Every flop w/out an ace? Every flop w/ out an overcard? You put yourself in a tricky situation here w/ this raise. Would you push in a later position after a couple of limpers?

Push, but it doesn't really matter.

Willbb...I'm not saying this is how I play it here. Just pointing out why that play could be made.

My point of view, right or wrong, is that JJ is very vulnerable and you should push to reduce the number of probable callers. Preferably HU.

Re: $11r - JJ w/ 13 BB\'s

btw with 11xBB i think a push is pretty much standard, and i'd push 88 here with 13xBB, but i just think JJ is strong enough to make a standard raise. of course, this type of thinking would make me exploitable if i played at a level where anyone paid attention -- luckily (or unluckily, viewed in a different light), i don't.

I'd push and feel a little weak about it. QQ obviously standard raise.

standard raise and push any non-A flop.

or push. either one seems ok.
