Absolute Poker Unethical Practices
I deposited to Absolute Poker over the course of one week about $4000 via epassporte to the site. I then I wanted cashout my balance for $2900.
They said I can only do neteller or check because they can't refund to epassporte because they don't have a away to and they are waiting for a special account so they can. (1st lie) They can't do it epassporte cause they don't have enough float to cover on epassporte I assume. I closed my neteller account because of fraud on their part (another long story) so my only option is check now. I requested a check then. I travel as poker player and am almost never home, so a check is pretty inconvienent. So 5 days later I'm still waiting, they said because epassporte was reviewing my epassporte account. I know this sounded like a lie because I do a much high volume regulary on epassporte for a long time on epassporte than a measely $4k, plus I was requesting less than I deposited and wasnt even cashing out via epassporte. One quick phone call to epassporte, great CS btw, and they said Absolute Poker was not being truthful because it was not possible for them to be investigating. Then epassporte sent an email right after confirming my acocunt in good standing and that Absolute Poker had no authority to be holding my funds as they are. Just thought I should warn everyone about absolute poker. I'm dealing in peanuts with them and they are giving me problems, I couldn't imagine trying to get significant money from them. |
Re: Absolute Unethical Practices
Why is it that low post-count members seem to have their accounts hacked into or run into these kinds of troubles moreso than the regulars? I think there's more to this story than the OP states. Also, what's up with this line - "I closed my neteller account because of fraud on their part (another long story)"?

Re: Absolute Unethical Practices
I'm a long time lurker. And well known in the poker community. There's no point to spend my life posting away so I can have more credibility in your mind.
Of course you should treat what you read on a forum with suspicion, but so should you with online poker sites. There's no authority to counteract unethical practices from a poker site other than word of mouth. |
Re: Absolute Unethical Practices
if you're so "well known in the poker community", then you probably could have just told "THEM", and we would of course find out about it immediately here as well. right?

Re: Absolute Unethical Practices
This is exactly the mentality why I don't post here.
anyway, I stated the facts, everyone can make up their own minds. [ QUOTE ] if you're so "well known in the poker community", then you probably could have just told "THEM", and we would of course find out about it immediately here as well. right? [/ QUOTE ] |
Re: Absolute Unethical Practices
that's nice mister big time player who has no time for us unless HE has a problem. run along now.

Re: Absolute Poker Unethical Practices
We've had so many "scams gone wrong" posts here lately that anyone with a problem gets lumped in with the scumbags. People need to chill on the rush to judgement a little, but thieves run rampant.
I'm sure it's a big hassle, I bet you'll get your money though. GL |

[/ QUOTE ] Probably because it's mostly the new (online) players who end up running into problems like this. It follows that they wouldn't be a long-time poster at a poker board since they're new to online poker. It's the new depositors who request cash-outs that get the most attention from the fraud investigators. And these new players freak out because they immediately get paranoid that the site is going to screw them over and steal their money. Nine times out of ten these people end up getting paid in the end. However, they very rarely come back here to tell us about it when it happens. |

Re: Absolute Unethical Practices
You'd be right most of the time. However I've had my account for a long time there and have cashed out before.
I know real people with absolute, I was never worried about getting my money, I do have concern for everyone else, because the site lacks enough capital obviously. Since I posted this I might as well update: They claimed that epassporte has notified them that my epassporte account is in good standing. The truth is epassporte has not had any conctact with them still. And everything absolute has tol dme so far has a been a lie. why? I don't know. I guess to cover the other lies. Along with the most recent email, they put the money back in my account and told me I could cashout. This after I spent 25 minutes on the phone with them requesting a cashout by check because their software is too buggy to do it online. Now I must send a peer to peer transfer and swap with my friend on another site. All of this effort for only $2900. Re: Absolute Unethical Practices
I'm trying to follow what you are talking about here but some of it just doesn't make sense to me.
Didn't you say at first that they were going to provide a check for your cash-out but you didn't want that? And now you say you spent 25 minutes telling them to give you a check (that I thought they were okay with giving you in the first place)? they completely took your money out of your account? I just thought they didn't allow you to use epassporte. You are unable to cash-out via their online methods too? I know their software is buggy, but I never really considered that this would prevent me from cashing-out there. So now they are letting you cash-out to epassporte like you wanted to originally?? (this isn't quite clear, they say that you are in good standing at epassporte, but you didn't say if this meant you could cash-out to there now). But instead of cashing-out to epassporte like you wanted to all along you are instead doing a peer-to-peer thing? Lots of this having to do with a big problem with neteller, a big inconvenience with getting a check, a big issue with being unable to use epassporte, and a big problem with using their supposedly buggy cash-out page? This seems like a lot of different cash-out issues that you have that I'm not sure are entirely related to Absolute. but, again, I might not quite be following everything that is happening here because I don't think you have been very clear on some of this (and perhaps not entirely forthcoming). |
Re: Absolute Unethical Practices
1)Deposited with Epassporte
2)Neteller account of mine I had closed was previously used to deposit and withdraw with absolute 3)Absolute only issues withdrawls with Neteller, Firepay or Check 4) The software would not let me cashout via express check for some reason 5) I called absolute, they said check sent in 48 hours 6) 3 days later they say epassporte is investigating 7) #6 Confirmed as lie 8)They send email stating epassporte says my account is ok and inexplicably put the money back in account. 9) Epassporte's supposed contact with them confirmed to be a lie. 10) Epassporte says they have merchant account and they must issue creditbacks if requested to the the amount deposited. 11) I send balance via inter account transfer to a friend who has neteller. 12) My problem solved Conclusion: Absolute Poker lies inexplicably and violates the terms of their merchant account. Motive? Not enough operating capital to maintain enough liquidity over it's 10 payment intermediaries. Hope that's a little less confusing. It really should be confusing to you, because absolute has done nothing but confuse me. |
