WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
135 left. Blinds and antes at 6k/12k/2000. Average stacks at roughly 670k. Will Prahlad go deep? Will Annie prove she is better than her brother? Will Gold prove he's luckier than Tiffany? Catch the action.

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
Has it started now?

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
Nah but I figured why not start the thread... If mods want to tear it down - no prob

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
I'm amazed they're already down to 135. Can they really dragthis out 5 more days?

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
i would think they'll either cut a couple days short or take a day off. maybe down to 27 by monday and take tuesday off?
|
Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
Makes sense to me that they'd just play "normal" 5 or 6 level days until they got to 9 players, wait til Thursday, then play the final table as scheduled. Final table players can get a little rest since they'd likely have a day off, and the media can create some stories with that extra day.

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
Starts at 3 pm EST time (12 local vegas time)
I'm amazed people are getting eliminated so quickly. The stacks are very deep compared to the blinds, yet we still see huge huge all in's preflop with marginal hands (I guess some of this was picking off shortstacks?) Chipleader Gold has made some seemingly donktastic moves, will be interesting to see what happens to him. |
Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
Play starts at 12pm PST time I think or in 1.5 hours.

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
150 down to 60 was scheduled for Monday (that will obviously be today), then 60 down to 27, then 27 down to 9 then the final table. Looks like they may have a day off.

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
From what I've read over at NWP, Gold's a 10/20 NL donk who's dropped 50k at the Commerce.

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
The donkiest is
he raises QQ preflop to 5K, some guy behind him goes all in for 16K I believe, and he FOLDS the QQ for the 11K back to him (and there was of course blind/ante money in the pot as well) there was also a super duper overbet push on the flop he did with 99 on a 933 board. |

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
I'll be getting texts from Steve Goodemote (WebGuySteve) as he is still in with around 600k chips.
They'll probably just play 5 levels and call it a day after that. |
Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
What is Technologic's name? He was at the TV table yesterday.

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
Random question, but does anyone know if any Full Tilt qualifiers are still alive in the tournament? Wasn't Full Tilt gonna throw in 10 mill on top of the first place prize if one of their qualifiers took home the bracelet?
|
Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
There are a few; they're highlighted in green on the CP chip counts page.

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
6 Online qualifiers, 1 Friend of Full Tilt are left

[/ QUOTE ] You guys that think they are throwing another 10 mil to someone who wins after qualifying on FT didnt read the fine print. The deal is 1 million for 10 years in exchange for your endorsement package. Those in the know argue this deal is far below the market value. |

[/ QUOTE ] The QQ play was supposedly for 18k more vs Brian Micon, which was discussed on CP and here, and I would guess was 100% right, as Micon didn't show, yet belittled him for playing like a donkey. Not that the guy HASN'T made some donkey plays, but that one seemed far from donkey to me. |
Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
Here's some that'll be making 51k:

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
Cunningham Busts Another
David Murray raises to $52,000 from early position and Allen Cunningham calls from mid-position. James Petrillo re-raises all-in, causing Murray to fold. Cunningham makes the call and shows Jdiamond Jheart, while Petrillo has Kdiamond Qdiamond and will need to improve. The flop comes Jspade 8heart 8spade, giving Cunningham a full house and leaving Petrillo drawing to running Kings or Queens to take the hand with a better full house. The turn is the 7spade, leaving Petrillo drawing dead, and the Aclubs comes on the turn to give the pot to Cunningham, eliminating Petrillo from the Main Event. Cunningham now sits with $900,000. |

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
Seriously, where is the big stack play?
Way, wayyyy too many pushes with M's over 20. Still a ton of terrible players left in this weak field. |
Re: WSOP Main Event Day 5 thread
According to CP chip count Rizen lost 385k and now has 700k
