Pacific still worthwhile??

Is it as fish laden as it used to be? How are the higher stakes games...I'm thinking about joining now that they have 10/20 and you can multi table.

Great question, I've wondered the same myself.

Re: Pacific still worthwhile??

You can still only play 3 tables at once, or 2 tournies at once.

I don't have a lot of high stakes experience, but I can certainly say that the lower stakes games ($1/2 and lower cash, and $15 and lower SNG) are easily profitable.

i just joined to do their deposit bonus. and i can say that the lower stakes games (1/2 and 2/4 are very profitable. however, their cashout time sucks!! expect to wait about a week to get your money out (this is using neteller)

After they allowed mulit-tabling the games tightened up incredibly. Combine that with the [censored] software and it isn't the greatest spot to play, not the worst either though.

Still get disconnected a lot if I try to play with Party multi-table.

Re: Pacific still worthwhile??

hmm. sounds kinda lame then. anybody play 5/10 or 10/20 there?

i'm not a fan of disconnects...that part seemed a little ridiculous.

Yep, I left because of that.

Pacific sucks. a lot.
their rates are 50% higher than other sites. if you think the 50cent party monster drop sucks, pacific is much much worse.

their customer service rivals party's for worst in the industry.

software is slow as hell and buggy.

player base is fishy, but 5 minutes into playing there and you'll be ready to quit again for foregoing reasons.

Re: Pacific still worthwhile??

the best is that they'd say you were the cause of your own disconnects. Hail Pacific!

Re: Pacific still worthwhile??

I just started there a few days ago. Was 4 tabling last night. Actually 5 at one time for a few minutes while I changed out a table.

As others have said, the s/w is not that great. I also had alot of disconnects last night, finally one that never reconnected. Had to close out the tables and reload the s/w.

Only thing I like so far is the bad players there. Some of them are unreal bad at the NL100 level.

I gave up after all the disconnects. The frustration was too deep to bear.

Same here...

The day I left I was disconnected 6 times in an hour. I haven't been back since.

4-5 tabling at Pacific? I'm thinking B.S.

Re: Pacific still worthwhile??

Pacific won't release a small cashout for me until I provide them with a photocopy of both sides of my credit card and driver's license. This really pisses me off.

I'm not playing there any more if/when I ever get my money out.

I am thinking you don't have a clue, as I just did it last night. Never get why people always assume they know more than someone else and take the time to post it.

Taken from BW's website:

The max tables you can play at Pacific Poker is 5*:

Why is there always some dude posting wrong info? Dromar, it has been a while that we can play 5 tables at the same time at Pacific Poker. Don't post if you know nothing.

Re: Pacific still worthwhile??

From their site's pages:

"Increase your winnings by playing at up to three ring games and two tournaments simultaneously!"

Re: Pacific still worthwhile??

I brought up the whole rake issue on the beginner's area of another site and I was shouted down by the fish. Their logic was essentially that they can at least find players who are worse than them.

Tight-weak/scared-money players seem to think Pacific Poker is their El Dorado, the city of gold. To each his own, I guess.

Thanx Mike. I knew I had read that somewhere.

I suppose it's possible that their site has incorrect/outdated information.

I myself have only ever 3tabled, so I can't say for sure either way. But I know that if I'm registered for 3 or more tourneys, it notifies me that I'll be in post/fold mode for all but two.

And then you can play all three normally. Pacific is not to be trusted on the subject of how things work at Pacific.

Re: Pacific still worthwhile??

And then you have Mike Haven who does not even play at Pacific Poker, but pasted some info from their Pacific Poker's website.

Dude, why do you waste your time? Kcheel and I were posting first hand experiences. I guess you always have some funny people claiming they know more than they actually do.

Ought to be, you need to fail an intelligence test to play at Pacific, especially at lower limits.

5 tabling is possible, 3 cash + 2 tournies tables

Re: Pacific still worthwhile??

high rake and no rakeback, thats the biggest problem imo.

Re: Pacific still worthwhile??

When I mentioned earlier in the thread I have had 5 tables going at once, they were all cash tables.

Re: Pacific still worthwhile??

I have personally played in 5 cash games simultaneously...as recently as yesterday. I have tried to play more than 2 tournies simultaneously and cannot. They even warn you when you sign up fo the 3rd tourny, that you can only play 2.

Re: Pacific still worthwhile??

I play 5/10, 10/20, and 15/30 there. Before the multitabling, I used to play it semi-regularly. Now, I do it sporadically. The games have changed for the worse, particularly at 10/20 & 15/30.

Exactly. Making an extra BB an hour from the softer opponets is not much use when rakeback, bonuses and a better rake structure gives you over a BB more at amost any other site.
