\"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/3) (10-20 NL)
Tonight's show is actually LIVE, as Bart is back in town. Tuch's still in Vegas, doing some sort of thing for the AllIn/Poker Channel. Tonight's show is the start of Legends, at the Bike is a $200 NL tournament, while the game on the show is 10-20 NL with a 1k min/no max buyin. Bart says there's many new faces, so should be fun to see how they do.
Also, Bart told me he spoke with the tech people and the archives SHOULD be working now. I just tried this myself for a couple of shows and it actually is working. The Vegas stuff isn't however. As always, people can catch at least some of the action over at www.liveatthebike.com starting at 10pm ET. Hopefully now that everything's back to where it should be, hopefully these archive issues will be taken care of. Also, I hope Eveliene, the tech people/whomever else involved in L@TB note the L@TB blues thread in this forum and not the lack of responses that paying subscribers have received because of archive issues the past week. Since I promised Barron I would, here's some coverage of some hand from Corp. Mike and Barry from Gutshot.com (if not interested, just ignore the rest of this post): [ QUOTE ] Everyone on Corporation Mike’s table folds to him on his button. Is there any wonder what he’s going to do? With $100 and $200 blinds, he makes it $700 to go. The small blind tosses his hand without a second thought but the big blind (Patrick Grube) takes a moment. Then, he puts out a pink $500 chip to call. Pot: $1500 Flop; Ac Js x The big blind checks and Mike takes the free card. Turn: 2c Patrick bets 40% of the pot ($600) and Mike doesn’t take any time to throw out $1500 total. The big blind looks at the board and then slides $900 into the pot. Pot: $4500 River: 5c Patrick and Mike are each down to about $5000 in chips so the pot represents a doubling of each of their stacks. Patrick checks his hand. Mike checks right behind. Patrick shows: Kd 9d “Unbelievably enough,” Mike says, “it’s good.” He flips his hand at the dealer—at least he didn’t rip his hand, LATB style—and continues to berate the player: “What the hell were you thinking calling the raise on the turn?” “I didn’t think you had an Ace…” “Yeah, but any Ace, any Jack, any pair, any anything—King Nine doesn’t beat anything, and you called a raise?!?” “I don’t know, I just did,” Patrick concedes. And on and on it goes… “Live at the Bike” favorite Mo has been moved to Foxwoods’ Melanie’s table. For those tuning in for the WSOP from LATB, my apologies again, as Day1D we suffered numerous technical difficulties so I couldn’t tell people about all the wondrous hands that I had for Barry, Corporation Mike, and Corporation Mom. Oh how folks would’ve marvelled at Corporation Mike raising a guy hard on the turn when the board was Ace-Ace-Jack-Five and his opponent called him on the turn and river (another blank) with King-Nine … and the King-Nine was good. Onward and forward, Mo has around $60,000 in chips when he moves to a table I’m watching and asks me (again) where he knows me from. I remind him about the LATB connection—I’ve never played on the show, but I watch it—and he thanked me again. I never thought about it one way or another, but the regulars on that show are also terrific ambassadors, and Mo is quite amiable with the press and an enjoyable presence on the tables. With $75 antes and $300 and $600 blinds, Mo sits right down for his big blind. The cut-off, short-stacked with only $8000, open-raises all-in. It’s folded around to Mo who asks how much it is. The amount confirmed, he announces that he calls, flipping up: AsKs against his opponent’s 8s8h The flop could be better for our hero: 8c7s6d The turn gives him lots of outs: 5s Alas… Mo doesn’t catch the river and he’s doubled-up the all-in youngster. The player next to Mo is quite a bit drunk and Mo chuckles, saying, “He’s keeping me awake—he’s very funny.” Hands pass for Mo without event until he picks up a hand in the cut-off, open-raising to $2000. The button cold-calls the $2000. The blinds fold. Flop: Qh 10s 9d Mo fires out $5000 and is called. Turn: 8s Mo checks, the button bets $10,000 (the button has about $20,000 left) and Mo calls, saying, “Pair the board.” River: Kc It’s checked through. Mo shows Jc 2c(that’s no typo) for a turned straight. The button shows Js Jd for the same turned straight. Bizarre hand... but despite chopping the pot, Mo still added to his chip-stack via his half of the blinds and antes. Keep it up, Mo—do “Live at the Bike” proud … but maybe with a bit better than Jack-Two suited. [/ QUOTE ] |

I hear that tonight's first event of the "Legends of Poker", $200 buy-in NLHE, had a turnout of 657 players.

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/3) (10-20 NL)
Bart,
I've missed your sweet, sweet voice. |
Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/3) (10-20 NL)
Bart sounds like he's commentating at a funeral...where's his usual enthusiasm...
|
Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/3) (10-20 NL)
So we can finally hear Bart and Dave brag about how they were too busy to play the main event.
|
Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/3) (10-20 NL)
It is a different sound tonight, maybe Bart's stuffed up or something.

I don't think his wsop experience was everything he hoped it would be hence the morose disposition.

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (8/3) (10-20 NL)
You can definitely hear more of the background noise/table talk than in the past.
