As we age and make our way towards death
 

something funny happens to some of us. Some of us grow up. Not me, not too much. But some.

And when people grow up they sometimes do funny things. Sometimes they get married. Sometimes they suddenly lose pleasure in previous games. Lose pleasure in past people and relationships.

Sometimes when a person we know is suddenly afflicted with such growth, the change is drastic. Almost as if the person is no longer the same person. Almost as if the person we knew has died.

Recently, we had a couple friends on this forum grow up. They participated in that silly little grown-up thing called marriage. They lost the pleasures they once took from participating in this forum.

In essence they have died.

Right, if they actually left it would be one thing. But they're still here or they wouldn't know any of this. Instead they read and PM people about everything going on.

I don't know any of these people personally, so my thoughts are only based on what I've heard.

The people that are victims in this drama are there for a reason. They have been intentionally deceptive, sleazy, and downright hurtful to several posters in this forum. They have been willing to hide the facts and create pain and confusion to others, all for the sake of maintaining their own happiness.

And what are they getting in return? Are hateful lies being spread? Is anyone saying unecesarily mean things to them? No. All that's happening is the truth is finally coming out. The truth, man. What's so bad about that, after all that's been done?

Sounds fair to me.

Mat, this presents an interesting schism now.

Some people who have left these boards post elsewhere about these boards and participate in discussions realted tot his board but not taking place on this board. They are granted immunity of those that have left, from discussions on this board. Fine.

On the other hand, someone else recently posted about events related to this board elsewhere and that action is now jeopardizing his status on this board.

That seems inconsistant to me.

I'd like to voice my support for what I personally interpret as a request to temper our actions with decency and generosity towards others.

A lot of the stuff that's happened around here lately is absolutely incomprehensible to me, but I think we're just seeing different and more complicated takes on the standard relationship threads. Kooky, kooky, stuff, though. I'm only 33 and I feel like an absolute dinosaur hearing about all these people get all freaky-deaky on teh intrawebs.
