past days full of bad luck - just me?
 

The past 3 days i have been playing several SNG and have seen an impressive amount of "against all odds" events.

I am not a long time player but i have never ever seen something even close to that.
I mean if i go AI with QQ when the flop is T8Q get 2 callers who show me JJ and J8 and the next cards are 9 and 7 this is poker and sometimes this happens.....but should events like this happen all the time (more than 2 dozen AI counted in such a short amount of time - over the course of 16 SNG's?

I mean my last 2 SNG went like this (exactly)

1) Second hand dealt i get AQs i raise and get 2 callers.
Flop comes A54 rainbow. I raise one fold and other re-raised so i go AI and get called by A6o. River card: 6

2) The very first hand i get 22 on the button. UTG raises to 60 and 1 caller and me calls as well. Flop comes 235
After some raising we all 3 end AI with UTG showing AA and other proudly present 46o

Bad beats are part of poker...but how many bad beates with less than 20% chance or weaker can happen in a row...or lets say in the course of 3 days?

And while i write this ...it happened again !
KJ vs villains K8o with floped Kxx rivered....an 8

Ok all you experienced fellow players out there - is this something i should get used to (if this is just "normal" variance i wonder how ppl can play 10 years and more and still be sane?) or should i go consult some kind of astrologic specialist and avoid playing when the stars clearly hate me?

Yeh I'm used to the variance by now. I swear a lot and punch stuff but I don't let it affect my game.

variance is savage. a good ZOMGWTFBBQ RIGGED is appropriate when your AA gets busted by 33 for the 158769183835715th time in a day.

and to help answer your question, if something remarkably unlucky can happen once, it is certainly possible (although unlikely) that it will happen twice in a row.... extrapolate as needed. I may have said too much. ***fear***

argh! i just spent my 400th post!!!

i was going to use it inviting y'all to sweat my awesome 180-man SNG final table appearance, but I was ashamed of my performance (and stuck at 395 posts).

My last two SNGs I got KK on the first hand and was knocked out by an opponent who flopped two pair. What are the odds of that happening? It doesn't matter. It happens.
