He said he wasn't going to play any other events except for the ME if he wasn't refunded for the NL Shootout. He was, and then played in a few events after that.

First player out in 3 minutes...

Robert Burton has the honor of eliminating the first player of the day - just three minutes into play - when his J-J beats his opponent's 3-3 on a board of J-4-3-7-9.

I got to the Rio after 11 last night and it was open, and was still open when I left the room after midnight.

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 1C Sweat

Sam Farha gets a visit from the God of Irony.

John Phan raises pre-flop, and he is called by Joe Berry and Sam Farha. The flop comes 964, Phan raises, Berry calls, and Farha re-raises. Phan folds and Berry smooth calls. The turn brings another 6, and once again, Farha bets into Berry who just calls. The river brings a 10, and Farha moves all-in. Berry calls and Farha flips over pocket 9s for a full house. Berry shows pocket 6s, and Farha can't believe his opponent turned quads against his top set. Farha is eliminated.

Greg Raymer Back in Black
On a board of A9835, Greg Raymer bets $2,000 and his opponent calls. Raymer shows 76 for the nuts (straight), and his opponent mucks. Raymer, who started the hand with $7,900, is up to $11,100 after being down to $5,200 at one point.

I guess the rule doesn't apply to comedians who aren't funny. (Anderson, Garrett)

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 1C Sweat

Just like yesterday:

[ QUOTE ]
Garrett then calls and shows 10c10d, while Ozeran flips up AsJc for a pair of Aces and the lead. The turn and river come 8d and Qs and Ozeran takes down the pot.

After the hand, Garrett drops the F-bomb and then covers his mouth. A tournament director is standing right behind him and gives him a warning, which prompts an argument from the rest of the table because two others sitting there had already gotten penalties for a language violations and had not received warnings. The warning stood and the other players at the table were assured that fairness would be observed.

[/ QUOTE ]

Fairness my ass.

Is there a site that gives the name of all of the players. I was curious to see how Brett Oliverio of the WJFK Sports Junkies did but I cant find him anywhere in chip counts of Cardplayer. Which doesn't suprise me since he doesn't play Full Tilt

Jean-Robert Bellande Takes a Hit
With 4-4, Jean-Robert Bellande takes on his opponent, who holds 76, on a flop of 8-7-4. The dealer turns over the K prematurely (before the betting on the flop was finished), and therefore has to shuffle it back into the deck, after flipping over the new turn card (which would have been the river card). The new turn card is a 5, giving Bellande's opponent a straight. Bellande calls a bet on the turn and proceeds to fold on the river (which is a Queen). Bellande is arguing that if the K were the turn card, his opponent would never have been able to see the river.

Either way, Bellande gets away from his set and loses a relatively small amount of chips. He is at $8,500 in chips.

[/ QUOTE ]

I may be wrong, but would the next card off be the burn card, or do they burn another one here, I can't remember.
