No doubt there'll be another 1 or 2 players blinded out cos they were initially scheduled to play on 1C or 1D and haven't checked their email.

GL Gents, off to grab some eats before hitting the Rio. Look for the white Army hat (gotta represent the Troopers) and oh yeah, a black Pokerstars.net polo shirt. I've got everyone's who's posted in this thread Table and Seat written down, so I'll try to stop by as time allows.

Fun fact: I'm wearing a Pokerstars.net shirt without ever having actually visited this web site.

I'll also be wearking a Mets visor. Also, I set my alarms for 9:45, and this is about the first time I've ever gotten up (and stayed up) so far before they sound.

embarrassing. i would have definitley folded kings after being re-raised several times on the first hand. not worth it to go busto that early in a 10,000$ buy in tourney.

I think the deal is that they reveal the costume he's wearing for the following day, so he should be in the Robin outfit again today.

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 1B Sweat

Greg Nunley raises to $225 and Mark Lawlor re-raises to $600. Nunley re-raises to $1,500 and Lawlor makes it $3,000 to go. Nunley goes all-in and Lawlor makes the call. Nunley shows KK and Lawlor shows AA. The board comes JT273, and Nunley is our first elimination of the day.

How many guys are making it $3000 here on anything other than AA? With absolutely no player information, I don't know if I can muck the KK here, but there's no way I push preflop on it.

pipsqueak 07-29-2006 03:27 PM

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 1B Sweat

Here's the fine fine pokerwire coverage of the same hand:

Greg Nunley raised preflop to 225, Mark Lawlor reraised to 600, Nunley reraised to 1.5K, Lawlor reraised to 3K, Nunley pushed all in, and Lawlor called. The players showed:

Greg Nunley KcKd
Mark Lawlor AhAd

The board came Jh10c2d7s3d, Lawlor took the pot with his pocket kings, and Nunley was the first to be eliminated today.

Really, now...

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 1B Sweat

That's a crappy situation. With no reads, what the heck are you supposed to do? Call when Lawlor raises to 3000 and then fumble around when you (and probably your opponent) miss the JT2 flop?

Or just fold the second-best starting hand to that final raise?

Without reads, you MUST assume you are playing a high quality player

Rosendo Perez Doubles Up Early
Rosendo Perez and his opponent get it all-in on a flop of A-Q-X. Perez turns over A-A and his opponent has Q-Q for a rare set over set situation. After the hand, Perez is up to $19,800 in chips.

Re: WSOP Main Event Day 1B Sweat

Worst play ever. I'd likely either fold to the 3k, or call (getting 3:1) and hope for a Q or a K, either of which I'd push allin for and expect him to fold.
