Gus Hansen joins full tilt poker

Dunno .. just seen it on their website ... wonder just how much these full tilt guys make ... wonder if they get a salary every 2 weeks or just free entries to tourneys. I'm suprised it took this long for someone to snag him he's one of the best known players ...

Re: Gus Hansen joins full tilt poker

He started his own site which bombed... that's probably why he has been off the market. I'm sure Gus is being well taken care of. I don't think it's an exclusive deal though, I saw him on UB last night; unless he's cheating on the wife.

I thought he was with Pokerchamps (still waiting when they add more games, the software is cool)?

Pokerchamps got bought out by betfair. It didn't quite bomb.

To keep that analogy going they have nothing to show for it...tho this isn't a baseball debate..they yankees probably don't get enough ROI...full tilt still doesn't have as much action as I'd like it to be. tho third isn't bad.

It's true. Fulltilt has the best spokespeople and best publicity (all the pros walking around with FT gear), but I really don't like the interface and apparently other people don't either, as shown by their low numbers.

Full Tilt is one of the biggest sites right now. Its no stars or Party, but it is bigger than UB and Paradise last time I checked.

This isnt 1987. Steinbrenner paid like 8 mil for them 30 years ago. He could sell them for a billion or more today. Im a Yankee fan, wouldnt be suprised if they didnt make the playoffs this year, but he has gotten way more than his money's worth over the last 10 years and its not close.

Re: Gus Hansen joins full tilt poker

Full Tilt is 3rd right now and climbing. Everytime I check during peak hours they are at over 26,000 players. Far surpasses UB and Prima. I just don't like the capped rakeback.

Re: Gus Hansen joins full tilt poker

It seems that if the FTP pros played the higher games there regularly, even just as publicity stunts, that would keep them going. Obviously a lot of their pros would feel that to be a waste of time, but a thought.

However, their interface is likely the worst out of all the major sites.

I was playing 1/2 razz last night (yes, i'm awesome) and I saw the headline in the client.

I went to the ftp website and he's one of the "top pros" or whatever you would call him, not just a friend of the site.

Re: Gus Hansen joins full tilt poker

full tilt is trying to become a premier name in poker, not just the best site, but maybe the best known......and then sell (if the u.s. govt. doesn't screw up their plans) and make all of the intial investors extremely rich/retired.

they are using all or a huge percentage anyway of their profit to market their company and put them in a position to achieve their goal of a huge selling price.

signing and keeping a huge stable of pros makes them a potential giant to the general public who only watches a bit of poker on tv. pure genius.

cheers. J.

Party has one of the best interfaces, not sure what you're talking about. It's their software that sucks.

Yeah, i love having a "bet pot" button that only exists when the action is not on you, and a slider which for some reason doesn't operate in whole amounts, rendering it pretty much useless.

Re: Gus Hansen joins full tilt poker

Everyone is difference and has different tastes ... I myself don't mind Full Tilt's look I actually think it's a very good one. Some people can't stand party's and love stars and vice versa. Personally I find party's to be plain and straight forward and that's all I'm looking for. I find stars to be cartoonish and I don't take it seriously when playing on their site for some reason. Maybe a lot of others are the opposite. IMO though Full Tilt has a great interface.

the yankees are a half game out of first place and have went to the playoffs at least the last five years or so.

Party Poker will never be could enough to compare to the yankees. And I hate the yankees.

FYP. At FullTilt you can choose from any number of cartoon avatars including: an elephant, donkey, shark, plant, fish, dog, or monkey!!! SWEET. Thats not kiddie at all.

Yes but you still have to choose one of those hideous cartoony things. At least on stars I can make my own, leave it blank, block the ones I don't like, or play with none.
