although it may not be practical for everyday use, it's in your budget ($43K base) and probably drops panties.

Other than that, I'd go with the Inifiniti and then the 335 Bmw

Re: Car Shopping, will spend up to 45k

what's the over/under on the eta of the financially responsible poster saying something along the lines of "buy a 10k two year old honda and put the rest into savings so you can retire earlier"?

then the thread degrades into a discussion about how he wants to spend $ on a car whereas other people want to tell him how dumb that is, etc, etc.

i'm looking forward to seeing it for the 13420938th time.

More so to make sure I pay off all of my school for the year first so the parents dont bitch.

Planning on making a 25% downpayment, sound good? Ive never bought a car that ive had to make monthly payments on(91 toyota corolla, holla) so idk anything about this stuff. Dont want to ask the parents because they are lame, and I dont feel like getting lectured by them, or anyone here. I am 20, I want a [censored] pimp ride. dont lecture me. fwiw, I do invest a certain % of my earnings each month.

reef, they are sick cars, no doubt. But, totally impractical. They are track cars. Im looking for something sporty, but practical for every day driving, picking up honeys, etc. The lotuses are kinda small inside

Btw, I've always preferred the Nissan 350Z Track or Roadster over the G35.

it was sarcasm(yeah, didnt make that clear). ive got a gf of over 2 yrs. just trying to go along with the balla theme. like i said, fast, sporty, classy, practical. and, its gotta be pimp. something i can maybe put big shiny rims on...

Are you employed? Student? Poker player?

Seriously, this sounds like a terrible idea. Just buy a decent car that works with that downpayment. A 45k car won't sufficiently impress anyone.

ebran, I respect what yer sayin, but at this stage in my life, im making better $ than my dad just playing poker. I also have a stupid on campus job that nets me 9$/hour sitting in a computer lab...playing poker, or doing hw. Like I said, I put away 10% of my earnings each month into a savings account. I will have paid of my schooling before I actually buy a new car. Anyways..

What car do you suggest? The accord is pretty nice actually..

Mad, don't listen to the people that tell you not buy a 45k car. If you can afford it, do it.

However, I do believe that it's good to buy a year old car. You get a much nicer car for your money and you save all that first year depreciation.

Re: Car Shopping, will spend up to 45k

I don't know much about cars. I'm probably as ignorant, or slightly moreso, than the average person. When I saw the pictures of that thing, the first thing I thought was, "That car belongs to a 45-year old divorced tool with a toupee."

Maybe if I had a vagina, I'd think, "I WANT HIM!" instead.

I'm not balla, but I'm pretty sure a balla pays straight cash. Taking out a 30k loan for a car? Seems ridiculous on many levels.

Are you a millionaire?

If not I think you should spend 26K and put 4k into a roth IRA and 15K into your 401(k). Retire much richer than if you blow 45k on a depreciating pimpmobile.

I bought one of these yesterday:

While it won't get you laid, you can beat any car you've mentioned so far as far as speed/performance goes (even the upcoming 300hp BMW 335i). The one I got has silver rims

As far as price, power, class, and all around pimpness. I think the G35 coupe is a very nice option. Fully loaded 2k4 can be had for under 30k. what do you guys think? Any G35 owners here?

unless you get used cars, better write off an M3 and S4 off the list right now.

as suggested by some, a lotus elise is insanely cool but highly impractical.

if you want a roadster, check out an elise, z4, 350Z, and simliair cars (Z4 is a chick car, elise is just cool)

consider a used porsche boxster as well

putting my great advice aside, do you wear a baseball cap offset slightly up and to the right? you certainly sound like one of those people
