Things that live up to the hype

Most things don't, what are some things that do?

1. Las Vegas, obv.

2. Jessica Alba. My cousin met her briefly in person and confirmed that she is, in fact, the most beautiful woman in the history of the world.

3. The Texas vs. USC Rose Bowl last year.

What else?

Yeah, the enormous buzz surrounding it is definitely unwarranted.

I guess it would be, but Las Vegas is the livinest-up-to-the-hypest thing that has ever lived up to the hype.

I won't start a discussion here about Tarantino films, but I really do think his work lives up to the hype. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Jackie Brown were all way above my expectations and I still think they are some of the best movies in my collection. No one can write dialogue like he can.

The if by X you mean Y correction is generally lame as hell, the combo in this post is lamer than the sum of its parts.

Robert Frost :

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
