The Strangest/Grossest Foods You\'ve Eaten

I just took a slice of ham, spread chunky peanut butter over it, sprinkled a coat of feta cheese, then drenched it in Frank's Red Hot Sauce. It wasn't that bad, but the hot sauce kind of overpowered it.

What's the strangest food or combination of food that you've eaten?

My filipino gf is going to make me each some "dish" that is simply baked (I think) pig's blood. She says it's good, but I remain skeptical.

Mix soy sauce and plum sauce together and eat it. It doesnt sound bad but it is seriously the most [censored] disgusting thing on the planet.

Balut -- This wack nasty fertilzed duck egg. Duck fetus ain't too tasty, especially not the one I had which was a bit old and actually had TINY feathers already starting to grow.

Not recommended.

More info here: Wiki - Balut

Edit: A shot of snake gallbladder juice is another that I don't recommend.

A can of licorice syrup from Ireland dipping bread in it. That was like 20 years ago and I still feel sick just thinking about it.

Didn't eat it, but took a trip to the Asian grocery store today, where I saw pig uteri and bung for sale. Bung is exactly what you think it is.

I guess this would explain why most but not all Asian grocery stores smell like [censored]. Real appealing smell when you're thinking about preparing food.

Not dissimilar to Black Pudding, a Yorkshire delicacy of congealed Cow's blood. It epitomises the beauty of English cuisine.

My bad - from wiki: "In the West, pig or cattle blood is most often used, sheep and goat blood are used to a lesser extent, while blood from poultry is very seldom used."

I started a similar thread a while back and one responder answered: Lutefisk

"Lutefisk" is an infamous Norwegian dish composed of fish soaked in lye.

i like alot of strange things and trying new things (escargot steak tar tar ? sp etc), but the worst thing i've ever tried was sea urchin sushi. Barely got it down. tasted like mushed up rotted seafood, and ruined my whole meal.

Echo on the sea urchin sushi. It tasted like melted plastic, a NJ garbage truck, and fish gonads all rolled into one. Second would be any pizza with pineapple on it.
