Hi,

My name is Fred Balfour. I am the General Manager at WSEX. I will be available to answer questions on this forum and hopefully fast track solutions should problems arise.

The upgrades will continue. We want WSEX to be known for the best platform as well as No Rake. It’s a constant work in progress. We appreciate all feedback, particularly from this forum.

Hand histories to hard drives, the ability to play more than three tables, 6-Max and others are all in the pipeline. Feel free to post other requests in this thread. If another site has it, and you want it, we will try to add it. At the same time we will constantly work on improving the stability of the application and keeping lag times to a minimum as we grow.

Do this and get rid of those cards on the bottom of the screen (and make the cards by your seat bigger). Simple but necessary changes and you'll have 2-3 times as many players.

Edit: oh, and "turn" notification must be better....too difficult to multitable.

I'm very much enjoying playing at your site (regardless of where you get the HH's from).

You may be getting contacted by Mike Haven at one point so that we can 'verify' that you really are associated with WSEX (we had a couple imposters who claimed to be representing sites in the past).

Myself, I'm planning on coming over to WSEX as soon as some the issues that I read about on here are resolved. ie. The Big Blind bug, speed issues, more SNG action...

Add EFTs for cashouts so that I don't have to pay Neteller's usury fees. Surprisingly this is the main reason I switched to Party.

Why would you have to pay any fees to move money around?

The only stipulation is you get 1 cash-out per 10 days.

I cash-out to neteller.
Then I send an EFT to my bank.
No fees involved.

Presently WSEX covers any incoming Neteller fees and you get one free Neteller withdrawal every 10 days, as long as you play through your deposit.

The most needed changes would be..
HH on the HD
6-max tables
NL 6-max tables

I like the big cards on the bottom, also disregard the "bot" BS. Security against bots would be great, but only a small number of people believe the bot garbage and those people will never be satified.

I would like to see Pai Gow added to the casino
and a larger font used in the poker chat box.

Please give us a shot now. The Blind issue has been fixed. I think you'll find the speed has improved quite a bit since April. The population seems to be growing every week at a nice pace.

Critics aside, offering rakefree poker is a great, bold move which deserves lots of praise and respect. HOORAY!!!!!

I don't like the slider. Would it be possible to have it like Poker Stars where if you click on it, it goes up in sensible increments.

This is pretty minor I guess compared to the things you have already said you are doing but it makes it a lot easier to multitable.

Sounds like pretty soon they'll be no reason to play any other site.

Rika - there are lots of different table-modifications you can do.

the one I went to is holdemreview.com.
Some of the table-mods for it include bigger cards at the seat (as well as less bright colors for the tables).


I use tilt-blocker windows for the hole-cards at the bottom because they are extremely distracting to me.
Otherwise, I always think I have cards in the 5-seat. And I think I still have cards to act on even after I've folded.


Note to WSEX - these are extremely distracting and annoying and I shouldn't have to use an outside program to block these. It should be an option in your software.

If something simple like tilt-blocker didn't exist I would have to use little post-it stickies on my monitor just to play on your site which I think is pretty bad.

And obviously some others haven't found the table-mods and tiltblocker programs out there and thus their experience at your site might be more frustrating than you should want it to be for new or existing customers.

Other than the three you mentioned, which are the most important, sizeable tables would be my fourth request.

Your table screens are large than other sites, and while you can get away with a little overlap on the other sites without having to flip back and forth, you pretty much can't with WSEX because the betting function pops up at almost the very bottom.

(My screen is 1680x1050)

I agree with the sentiment that the software is akward and somewhat annoying. It's not a dealbreaker for me, but it might be to the average recreational player who doesn't take poker as seriously. The "no rake" thing isn't as big of a deal to him as having nice looking software and a smooth interface.

EDIT: and you will get some of my money if you offer UFC lines!

Some players have received them, some have not.

I am being told that the Tourney fee issue will be fixed on Monday. I am not and will not uarantee anything as we all know how programming can go.

This is what I was just told:

Players should be receiving two payments this Monday, their regular rake back and then a separate payment for all the tournament fees they should have received since the begining of the promotion.

From next monday onwards there should be no problem with tournament fees being added to their rake back total.

I disagree with some of the requests that you have been given.

I am happy that there are no HH's on the hard drive. Even though I use PT as much as possible, I don't think making it easier for the pros to multitable and use software to make decisions is good for the game.

I also like the cards that stay on the bottom. I think that these actually make the average player gamble a little bit more. Since they have to sit and look at the 97 that they folded and the 999 flop it might change their attitude the next time they are dealt that hand. Anything that helps loosen the game up can't be all bad.

Frankly speaking, if you want to have any chance of catching up with the major networks you have to at LEAST provide the basic services they provide. This means HH.

I think we all agree that the following 2 things should be fixed pronto:
Increase maximum number of tables you can play on
Add 6-max in for limit and NL.

WSEX GM, do you know when these are planning to be implemented? Ive been told they arent that hard to implement as WSEX already had 6-max a long time ago and the table cap is just artificial..

And in addition to the pot-limit omaha high suggestion, I think also that option to play more than 3 tables is not needed. Maybe increasing it to 4 tables isn´t bad, but after that I think it´s gonna be a drawback to "normal players" that, I think, you wish to have more at WSEX poker.

100% agree. Seeing their rags would have flopped two pair or whatever might reinforce the "any two can win" attitude.

Since they are grayed out after folding, I have no trouble at all distinguishing them from live cards.

EDIT: Obviously the best solution would be to have them remain by default, and add an option for "Hide hole cards after folding" for those who dislike them.

im fine with 8 tables being the max. Thats a nice big number for me, as I really dont ever play above 8 tables anyway.

When will WSEX be adding a 1-1 room. I DO NOT mean sit n go tables. They need to add a 1-1 room with all fix limit games just like the 1-1 room at paradise poker. Please check out the heads up 1-1 room at Paradise poker. It's the best 1-1 room on the net. I can promise u tons of new players if you add this to your site.

And all my friends that play 1-1 are also sports betting junkies, so you can get their sports betting action also.
