I think the last 10 times i've had AK it's gone like this, and it's getting really old...any suggestions?

Something like that, although you don't always have to c-bet. Vary it. On this flop they'll likely go in with any pair so I c-bet this maybe 1/4th of the time.

Re: $11 Is this even HOW you play an AK, i dont know anymore

First, you're not raising nearly enough pre-flop from that kind of position.

Second, there's no point in c-betting when you don't hit in a situation like that. At this level, it's generally better to check that. You need to be raising more pre-flop so you're making it hurt for them to see the flop that you might not hit.

Don't be afraid to be aggressive pre-flop, ESPECIALLY with AK from EP.

often, i like limping in early in L1/L2 and call a raise if < 3BB. also, i agree u should raise more if u do...

The raise PF is fine, maybe a little higher?

Dont c-bet the flop into 2 players on that board. c/fold to a huge raise or c/call to a donk bet.

I raise just a little bit more on the flop, like 240, but the way you played it is fine of course. Don't ever limp with AK as some players suggest. This flop is perfect to make a standard c-bet, it's dry, and not likely to have hit the likely hands of the caller. Also, you only have one caller, which is fine. If UTG+1 had came along, I would often have checked behind. Fold to the checkraise of course. I think you played it well.

Mis read the HH. I though there were 2 callers.

KPL is right, C-bet is fine here but I wouldn't do it into 2 players.

As played it seems fine.

Why are people saying this is a bad c-bet? If you don't c-bet on such a non-threatening flop as this, when do you c-bet? I think it's automatic against one player, fine against 2 players, and questionable against 3.

I make the preflop raise at least 240, and I c-bet a solid opponent but most people at these level will call a paired flop almost always.

I'm sorry but I don't like this advice at all.

Preflop: You're line here is fine. Raising more is wrong in my opinion because a: you don't have a hand yet. and B: there isn't anything in the pot yet! Remember you are only going to hit the flop 1/3 of the time. So committing a bunch of chips when you have no hand is bad.

post flop: this is fine. As Oxy said. Mix it up a little I often check fold early (again because you don't win very much) and c-bet later when there is a lot in the pot.

Oh...and yeah...don't c-bet into more than 1 person.

For the most part I think we all make plays like this daily and it is frustrating to fold AK but it is a whole lot better than the alternative.

SAM

Just wait till you hit and get paid off, there really is nothing else to do, just a bad run for you.

Yup agree, t200 PF is fine. Cont/bet is OK, but I'd prefer to do it if UTG+1 was in the pot and not CO who cold-called, but it's still fine, check/folding isn't awful either. Nothing else you can do really.

T200 PF is fine if blinds are something like 20/40. Your converter doesn't tell us... if blinds are T100 this is not enough, however, because there are 10 players left at an 11, this is probably the first 5 hands of this tourny.

Read that article its good. C-bet vs. 1 opp. is good. fold to C/R is good.

As UTG called t60 blinds must be 30/60.

I think this is a fine spot to cbet. If you c/f every flop you don't hit, you're missing a lot of opportunities to take down pots.

obv pf is fine.

for the record... I c-bet the 11s far more than 22s or 33s...

Meh. It's an $11. I'm not c-betting AK in an $11 OOP against a PF smooth caller this early.

Just me, not saying it's right decision.
