Implications of an STD free world

How would human social dynamics change if there were no STDs/HIV?

Humans would start [censored] like Bonobos.

A lot more women would be grumpy on the way to work, cos their knickers were fizzy.

I feel there would still be too many "a girl looked in my general direction at lunch yesterday - what's my play?" threads.

I would be out of a job

I work for a pharmaceutical company, and am currently working on development of a Hep C treatment. I've worked on HIV drugs in the past as well.

So keep those STDs coming, you selfish bastards.

I would probably be more inclined to cheat on my girlfriend (since there is less fear of bringing disease into the relationship, thus doing her harm and getting caught).

That's messed up, damn.

It already happened. There was a period between the advent of antibiotics to cure syphilis and gonorrhea and the onset of AIDS. Chlamydia and herpes weren't on the radar. Birth control pills were readily available. This happened to coincide with my adolescence and young adulthood. We made love, not war. Life was sweet.

Re: Implications of an STD free world

This is the way the world was from the 60's up until about I guess 1982 or so when Aids came around. All of the std's you could get were very easily cured by just going to the doctor and getting some penicillin. If you want to find out what it was like just do some research on the 'sexual revolution' that occured starting in the late 1950's and came to full sail in the late 1960's and 70's. It was pretty wild, even the brothels in Nevada didn't require the girls to use condoms. The girls would have sex with sometimes 10 or more different men a day, with no condoms.

So just do some googling and you can find out what it was like.

I dont know of anyone whos ever said "I think Im gonna turn this whore down, she might have something"
Buts its probably different in big citys and gay communities where the sickness runs rampant

LittleOldLady continues to be the best poster in OOT.

I also agree with NT! I fear bringing home a disease to the future mother of my children, but what can I do i'm only human and need the arousal of atleast 4 women.
