For people who have played this, does it play like the maniac rebuyfest?

Only two people registered so far, it seems like $1000 for first would be pretty amazing.

Yeah, last year it was mostly due to one guy who pushed every single hand. He contributed $300-350 to the pool, easy. But in general it was very wild, even for solid KotZ players.

Problem is I screwed up and didn't send the password to the email distribution list as I normally do earlier in the week. Busy at work and I forgot it was this week. Turnout appears will be affected. So join now. Less than an hour!!

Do you still play tournaments? If not, what do you play? I just want to say when I was just getting started your crazy good MTT post basically was the best thing I had ever read on tournament play, so thanks. I told you in a chatbox on stars once, but you didn't respond.

I've never had two hands like that almost back to back. Figured I'd waste a bunch more money to get to 1/15th of two other people at the table. Just too frustrating sometimes.

That said, there was little logic in leaving at that point, just had enough.

He wasn't playing especially tight (Matt). I believe my two pots I played vs. him were allin with blinds 50/100 and he went allin for 20k or so. Opened the pot that is. =)

I still can't believe the response I get from that one freakin post after all this time. I've received so many "you inspired me" posts and PMs to this day. It seems that will be my legacy here. It's funny, before I posted here, I was a regular on fool.com and moneycentral during the dot com bubble and I still have "classic" posts in those forums that are referenced to this day, years after I departed. When I put my mind to it, I can be a good writer. People point to my "great" posts, but I just consider myself to be a guy with too much time on my hands that I can craft decent posts. That one, posted on a lazy afternoon when I had time to respond to a frustrated MTT player, was one of my best.

So here is my definitive response to what I've done since I was a regular "respected" poster. That post was made the year I finished in the top 300 on the Stars TLB while playing 10-15 tourneys a week there. Given how much the top players play to get in the top rankings, I considered that a decent accomplishment for a part time player. Most of it was done playing every weeknight in the $50 10pm ET HE tourney and a few others. I can count on two hands how many times I've played the weekend $200 big money tourneys. I have a family and it's really difficult to find time to play during the day on the weekends.

I made several withdrawals during my "heyday" playing &lt;$50 tourneys and I was very profitable. But in early '05 my aging mother-in-law was in big trouble and my wife and I had to take her in. We had to rush basement refinishing to put together an apartment for her and to finance it I withdrew a significant portion of my bankroll from online poker. I still had a good amount online, but I made the critical mistake of continuing to play online at the levels of my old bankroll and that coincided with one of my worst bad runs since I started playing. My bankroll was decimated.

Since then I've nursed that bankroll. From playing 15/30 to playing 3/6, believe me it's hard to go back. During this time I've been the KotZ TD and that's what has basically tied me to these forums. Having been a regular poster who was burning out a bit and having my bankroll crippled was enough to drive me away from posting so much. With other outstanding players posting and backing it up with excellent results, I just faded to just being the KotZ TD. Now in the aftermath of the ZeeJustin/JJProdigy scandals poker has started to leave a bad taste in my mouth.

So now I've announced that I will be resigning my position as KotZ TD. So in the coming months I will likely be riding into the sunset here on 2+2. I'll still be playing poker, but I will probably not be posting much.
