It's hard to say because Wade plays on a better and with Shaq, while although he isn't dominant anymore he still makes it much easier on DWade. For what it's worth, I don't think Kobe or Lebron could have played better than Wade has in these finals

Kobe is a far worse teammate..quits on his team if he feels like it(Game 7)..worse leader..selfish...can't co-exsist with other strong personalities. Rubs people the wrong way.

Wade gets along with other stars.

Wade takes fouls like I've never seen before.

Wade takes much better shots than Kobe.

Wade doesn't hunk 3's like Kobe.

Wade doesn't need to hunk up 5+ 3's a game.

I'm not saying Wade's better than Kobe but if you don't think Wade has some traits that he's much better than Kobe in, you can't be serious.

After seeing the way Shaq has deteriorated since the trade, has there been any re-evaluation that possibly the Shaq/Kobe feud was the fault of Shaq, refusing to acknowledge that he is on the downside of his career?

Gus you make a great point, I think a point that many of the NBA analysts have agreed with over the past 2 seasons.

The problem remains that Kobe has likeability issues and therefore everyone will be quick to blame him if there is a problem.

Shaq is just a big of a hard headed idiot as Kobe is, people just don't realize it.

The reason Shaq and Wade get along is because Wade is genuinely a nice humble kid. Wade is just a sweetheart and as a result he defers to Shaq who loves the power and control just as much as Kobe does.

Wade is still MUCH more efficient than Kobe. Wade doesn't take 3s yet averages 1.48 pps in the playoffs and 1.44 pps in the regular season to Kobes 1.34 and 1.30 in the regular season.

You can argue that Kobe still gets assists, but if you watch the games Wade doesn't force horrible 3 pointers at the end of games like Kobe does with 5 people in his grill.

To your other points, yes they are valid but as I said before, you put any number of players with Shaq over the Lakers title run and they still win 3 titles. While this year, Wade dominated the playoffs and finals for the most part while Shaq didnt' for the most part (he was very important during the Pistons series and still very important in the finals but not to the level he was in the past).

I never said Wade was BETTER than Kobe, I said he has some qualities I prefer from a superstar and a swing player. Kobe should focus on getting to the line and getting good closer shots like Wade does then forcing the 3 which he loves to do. His shot just isn't that efficient and efficiency wins titles for the most part. Jordan was extremely efficient, Shaq from the field is the definition of efficiency and Duncan for the most part has been. Kobe just hasn't been as efficient as Wade has been in his short career. Even with Shaq he wasn't as efficient.

Wade has teamates that can take shots

Kobe has a below par PG, SF, C .. Odom is far from great, not much above average .. the 3rd best player on the Lakers this year was Brian Cook!

playing with 1slightly above average player, and 3 well below ave players is going to hurt the efficiency of Kobe a lot, simply because he is the only option much of the time

b-s, Kobe was less efficient WITH Shaq than Wade. He's actually gottten more efficient the last 2 years, Wade just takes better shots then Kobe did even with Shaq. It has nothing to do with Kobe's teammates, it's what he's always done.

Odom had potential to be much better than average, but the way he plays now is only above average.

yeah he still forces shots, doesn't make passes a fair bit of the time .. but in many situations its the best play considering the other options

Felton isn't better than Williams. That's a real, real stretch considering Williams's stats are better in almost every category, including FG%, 3pt%, and FT%. He has .55 points on Felton in efficiency.

Kobe shoots a ton more 3s and is the focus of every defense he plays against, of course his overall shooting percentage will be lower. Wade is very efficient from about 18 ft in right now. As he expands his range he may become a better shooter than Kobe, but right now he's not.

Kobe vs Wade - Most will say Kobe has the edge offensively, but it's close. Defensivley it's no contest... Kobe is consistanly one the top 5 defenders in the league. Right now, Kobe is the better player by a decent margin.

Wade vs Lebron - Lebron had a better regular season and a similar postseason. Not much to say there.

Defense - for guys as quick and athletic as Kobe Lebron and DWade are, good D is all about effort. Playing great defense takes just as much energy as playing great offense. There's a reason basketball people say Kobe is one of the best conditioned athletes in the world... because he does it on both ends, 100%, 40+ minutes a game. Jordan was the same way.

This is an area Lebron and DWade could really improve on over the next few years.

championship rings have a huge effect on how careers are measured. At the end of the day Shaq's numbers are very similar to Karl Malone's, but because of the 4 rings (and counting) there's no comparison. DWade has one now and a great shot at another next year, while Lebron is gonna need some help before he even gets a shot. I'm not sure Dwayne will ever be a better player than Lebron, but he definately could have a better career.

Seriously, it's not like there's really any huge differences in the talents between LeBron, Kobe, and Wade.

Wade with Shaq at 24 is better than Kobe was with Shaq at 24. Both of them are better defenders than LeBron, and all three of them have the ability to just completely take over a game.

There are a couple of Knicks on this list that never would have accepted a role the way Williams did this year. Playing within the structure that your coach and team have is a pretty important chatacteristic for a PG.

Good answer. All these comparisons are kind of lame. Wade, Lebron, and Kobe are different players and play very differently. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. If one of them is "better" than the others it isn't by a very wide margin (although I think Lebron is the 3rd best right now because of his D).

Wade had Odom two years ago and as a rookie made him look like an all star... u put Kobe w/ him, and Odom becomes a non-factor b/c Kobe needs the ball in his hands @ all times... Kobe is SUCH a selfish player, that he wanted Shaq out of LA... the most dominant big man in the league, and Kobe wanted him gone b/c once again, he wanted the ball in his own hands...

Kobe made the playoffs, wow, congrats on that one... he has (arguably) the greatest coach in the history of the game, a very solid pf in Odom, an ABOVE average center in Mihm (for others that disagree name me 16 centers who are better), and a solid run the show pg, but that doesn't even matter, b/c u could put Kidd or Nash on that team and they'd be useless b/c Kobe wouldn't let them touch the ball either...

would Kobe win a one on one game, probably, I give credit where it's due... he's a better defender, and a GREAT scorer... but winning championships, consists of being a great PLAYER, and Kobe simply lacks a fundamental understanding of the game... people forget that Phil Jackson said he's simply uncoachable, and vowed to never coach him again (the only reason he's back is b/c he's [censored] the owners daughter)...

also, a healthy Kobe and a healthy Shaq HAVE lost a playoff series, where as a healthy Wade and a healthy Shaq (an older version I might add) have never lost a playoff series... in fact, in last years playoffs, and not many people know this, not only was Wade barely able to play in game 7, but Shaq's thigh was so severely bruised that he twice had to get it drained during the series just to play, and Miami STILL took Det to 7... and comparing those 2 teams, Fisher was better then Damon Jones, Devean George and Haslem are a push, and Eddie Jones, while a better player, is a choke artist, so that is a push as well... and Phil Jackson definitely gets the edge over Stan...

w/ all that being said, I'll take Wade any day of the week

All of this Kobe bashing is insane. I am tire of people just spewing the same crap that they here from ESPN. Do you watch the Lakers? Do you see what happens when Kobe passes the ball to wide open teammates? Smush Parerk 0-9? Kwame missing from 1 foot away from the basket. If he was a better team mate would he do shooting drills with them during practice? Odom played very well in the playoffs and got the ball much more because of it. Kobe plays on much different teams that LeBron/Wade.
