So I'm starting to panic. I'm 21 and I'm still a virgin. I've been close several times but it just hasn't happened. I've done literally every other thing but i just haven't had sex. Is this incredibly uncommon? I know one or two of my friends still haven't had sex either, but is this a big issue? My friends that are girls continually say it's not a big deal, but I'm still self-conscious about it.

Is this incredibly abnormal?

Have you dated anyone? I'm going to go out on a limb here an say that:
1) It's easy to have sex at your age if you start dating someone
2) It'll be easier to have meaningless sex in the future once you're already done the deed

But...if you hooked up a bunch but not dated anyone thus far, then I have to wonder why. People who "don't want a girlfriend" usually have no problem just having sex for the sake of doing so. Are you just hooking up with someone once, and then never again? She probably wants to watch the previews before the featured presentation starts.

That's weak. It seems like he's able to pull some girls, so he should do it that way. It will be much more satisfying. If he were incompetent with the ladies or extremely ugly, going that route is ok. This is just my opinion.

I've had two real relationships. One was junior year of high school that lasted 6 months (but we just both weren't ready), and the other was freshman year of college for 9 months. That was my best chance, but it just didn't happen. It was long distance for the last 6 months. We did everything else but we just didn't have sex. Right about the time the physical side of our relationship would have reached that point the emotional side fell apart and we broke up. It sucked too, because we talked about having sex all the time on the phone before it fell apart, and I feel like if I would have just seen her once after that it would have happened.

Then don't worry about it now. You'll have sex with the next girl you date. No one is going to care that you're still a virgin, but your next girlfriend will probably think you're a bit dirty if you went to a bar and hooked up with some mom "just to get it over with".
