Monte Carlo Millions 2005: Tony G is an \"Aus-hole\"!
 

I was checking out the DVR'd episodes of the Monte Carlo Millions last night and saw the episode where Tony G busted Mike the Mouth. He started jumping up and down, screaming and talking a whole bunch of trash to Mike. I understand that some might think Mike deserved this, but come on Tony. Then the Australlian reraised all in later with a seven nine suited against KK on a seven high board and caught the nine on the river and started celebrating again. He was dancing, yelling, and kept talking more trash. He kept saying how he played his hand like a set and the other guy should have laid down his pocket kings after the flop. Yeah, sure Tony G, just like you should have laid down your Ace King to Phil Ivey's set of fours at last years Monte Carlo Millions. Tony G, Australlian for [censored].

Thanks for posting this, I was looking for Tony G threads on here since I saw the show last week. That hand in particular really pissed me off.

To Tony G:
“I played it like a set” - so what, [censored]?? You DIDN'T have a set, and his call with KK was the right one. Then you river two pair and suddenly you have the right to berate the guy who called and tell him he should have laid down his KK? Ever think he could have saw past your not-so-deceptive act of “playing it like a set”, and felt he was ahead?

Tony G infuriates me more than any other poker player on TV nowadays. It's one thing to be a jerk to a guy who calls your all-in with a crap hand and sucks out on you, but to talk trash to a guy who made a good call and got unlucky vs. you? FU G.

I didn't think he busted him at Monte Carlo Millions, but I haven't watched that in a while.
I believe it does happen at the WPT Bad Boys of Poker, Sunday June 25 at 9pm on the Travel Channel.

I found the Sunar-Tony G EPT HU to be hilarious. Both guys sucked out and Sunar eventually won. I also enjoyed the apology to every player after he busted them. He explained it was a "joke" but come on, if I were at the table with his I would have hit him a long time ago. He's like a little fat kid who never gets his way.

You are exactly right. I understand that Tony G's plan is to put people on tilt, but damn, when you cripple someone's chip stack on an extremely bad beat, shut the [censored] up and thank the poker gods for your suck out. Telling your opponent that he should have laid down his pocket kings because you played your hand like a set is completely disgusting. If anything he should have apologized to the guy for playing his ten seven suited like a douche bag and told him his call with KK was superb.

Yes, if memory serves, Mike's demise came while holding AK vs. AQ with all the money going in pre-flop. The river brought a Q, and Mike ran out of the room crying hysterically like Brenda Walsh after she stumbled upon Dylan and Kelly making out.

Or I might be thinking of the Moneymaker year. Damn it, I can vividly remember his cries of "I played the best poker of my life," with tears streaming down his face, but I can't remember which year it happened.

I totally agree with everyones comments about what an assshole this guy is but imo he is great for televised poker. Kind of like pro wrestling. It wouldn't be as interesting if there weren't a villian.

This has been covered many times, but unfortunately, people keep forgetting.

Raymer did not bust Matusow. He did take a huge chunk (3/4?) of his chips when Matusow called Raymer's all-in with middle pair on a T9x two diamond board. Raymer was holding AJ of diamonds (making him the favorite), hit a diamond, and doubled up. This is when he made the "thanks for busting me, Mike." comment.

Later, Matusow got all-in with someone else with AK vs. their AQ. Q on river, bye-bye Mike.

Please don't tell me I'm wrong, because this topic has been covered before, and I was right then too.

was this the WPT? not sure if canada is on same rotation as US for the show........ i remember this guy incredibly obnoxious and he lost to an east indian guy at the end.. is that the show???

i actually thought he's much more of an act than matusow and probably a better person (mussolini vs. stalin was a better dictator LOL)... painful to say but i'd say these guys are good for poker.

BTW, the aussie made some horrible plays when it got shorthanded.

I gotta admit, I love Tony G. I catch myself chuckling everytime I see an episode of poker with him in it. He is so over the top obnoxious that I find it to be pure comedy. It would get real old if you were at his table, but man it sure is great to watch on TV.
