$22 speed: Was this a bad fold?
I would usually have pushed this, but I had been raising with a lot of hands and also had my blinds folded to me the last couple rounds. The two short stacks were both trying to fold into 3rd and with the big stack sitting there...was this really bad or ok?

Re: $22 speed: Was this a bad fold?
Might've gone to 1200 to commit the small blind without really getting involved, but that's only if I'm really feeling saucy. I have no problem folding this.

folding seems bad to me

folding seems bad to me [/ QUOTE ] What do you think about making it 1800 calling a push by BB, folding to Button push? |
Re: $22 speed: Was this a bad fold?
I'm pushing. Folding is only a small mistake though. I don't like anything fancy here.

Re: $22 speed: Was this a bad fold?
probably raise to 1500 or so, and folding to a button push.

Re: $22 speed: Was this a bad fold?
my main problem with opening here is your decent stack and likely crazy image. you can open and youd really have to fold to any button raise unless you felt he could come over the top of you with air, which youd probably think about bc youd been raising so much. i dont mind open shoving this as i think youll be way ahead often here and button is likely going to fold with shorties, his range has to be tight enough. in your spot, i like pushing>folding>raising

Re: $22 speed: Was this a bad fold?
How had the big stack been playing recently? Don't forget he's almost as scared of you as you are of him. Put in a good raise and take it from there. Call if BB pushes, against button folding would probably be correct. Folding is a mistake in this position.

Re: $22 speed: Was this a bad fold?
Raise to 1200. Folding isn't great, but a push here isn't the best idea.

Re: $22 speed: Was this a bad fold?
Why are people advocating raising less than all in with 10bb?
We have FE over everybody at the table. We're eating a huge BB next hand and we'll have to call with any 2 in the likely scenario that the shorty pushes from the button and it's folded to us. This is absolutely a push or a fold situation... and I'm pretty happy to see 77. Push. |
Re: $22 speed: Was this a bad fold?
I just want to re-emphasize that the main reason I folded this is that I'd been pushing a LOT. I mean a LOT. Does that change any answers? Or is 77 good enough that it's still a push? Sometimes I'm not sure when to slow down my pushes. I know there's a point where I don't want to be to maniac.

Re: $22 speed: Was this a bad fold?
I would never fold this

Re: $22 speed: Was this a bad fold?
When you have a good hand your table image is irrelevant. You can't fold this.

I had been raising with a lot of hands [/ QUOTE ] this shouldn't influence your decision too often [ QUOTE ] and also had my blinds folded to me the last couple rounds [/ QUOTE ] to me this makes pushing out of the question [ QUOTE ] The two short stacks were both trying to fold into 3rd [/ QUOTE ] so a raise seems in order; make it 1500, fold only to a button push If button was a solid, aggressive sort who might push you off with a large range of hands, a limp may be better, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. |
