stfu isn't good enough; cause at least some of us would notice it and it WOULD affect our late game decisions whether u want it to or not

it's better to just re-do and then we don't have to worry about it (similiar to having everyone be 'invisible' on forum so we don't have that issue)


i couldn't help but notice it and others will as well and thus it WILL affect the game in one way or another; this is why i said to rand() character list before posting it; then the problem is solved

it's not like we expect to notch a 'win' by mentioning it and feel good about 'winning'...it's simply that if u don't do that, then we play for 2 hours and then the game gets messed up due to that

i don't think bobo should be subbed out because of it; the really bad play would have been for him to stay quiet and just notice people as they die and then figure out the wolves from the list...

Bobo was angle shooting, not bringing up a hole in the game. He wanted to win by having everyone use information not intended for in game use, and pursued that strategy after it was made clear it was unnaceptable.

EDIT: Everyone getting their panties in a bunch is just going to degrade POG in general. Let's be clear that using character names in the games where the Mods take the time to use themes is against the rules. Everyone shake hands and let's put this past us.

i don't feel i'm guilty of anything; i mentioned it yesterday as well and told him to rand() before the game

not mentioning it would be worse because then the game would be played out with extra info being around instead of just keeping it confined to game play

I mean obviously it wasn't smart of Hornacek to post an exploitable game, but one of you could have posted going "this game is exploitable, nobody post their role" and then there's no info to be gained from it (apart from that you are probably villager for posting that, which would have been bad enough, but these things happen in WW games).

instead you tried to exploit it to "win". As a result this game, which originally I signed up for a start time of like midnight local time, is now starting at 2am.

Because the extra information is to increase enjoyment of the game, not provide one team an easy way to win (thus making the game pointless). We have played numerous games with this type of set-up, and everyone acknowledged that the pm'd characters could not be discussed. I suppose a certain level of fair-play or maturity is required to appreciate what I am saying, I hope you possess one or both.

It clearly WAS about winning, at LEAST for BobO.

As others have said, the game would have been fine simply by mentioning that it's exploitable, and Hornacek stating that declaring a role = auto-lynch.

i agree that announcing roles on a rand() list so the wolves will have to lie is bad; i'm talking about discussing the fact that the list wasn't rand()ed and thus is an unfair game if not mentioned and restarted

with mine/bob's names matching up, i felt that was statistically significant to believe he didn't rand() the list

Bobo: Horn didn't forget to rand() the lists, and I don't know about any games where theme roles were used to angle-shoot. How about we just acknowledge that in a theme game the villagers could win by using the theme character information, and so we agree not to post our characters? I don't see this as a particularly big deal, and I think it will be water under the bridge before the day is over.
