Official JUNE thread: Goals, Winrates, General Discussion, etc
 

For me:

Goals:
- Play 30 hours a week
- Bluff less often
- Slow down with monsters sometimes
- Play sets like big draws more often
- Practice changing gears more
- Work more on play in reraised pots (including 4-betting)

Challenges:
- See how big a stack I can get (in # of buyins)
- Have a +$5000 day (or higher, obviously)
- Take some shots at NL1000 when the games are good
- Be sure to spend plenty of time socializing, too, nerd.

Expectations:
- 120 hours * 5 ptbb/100 * 500 hands/hr = 3000 ptbb = +$36000. +$25000 would be great though.


What are yall's goals/challenges/expectations?

i made my return to nl 600 this week after a long hiatus, and im glad to see more 2+2 regs [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

+$10k for june while working full time would be great. we will see if i can get the hands in, shouldn't be hard at all playing 8 tables, and should be pretty easy if i stay up at 5/10 (dunno).

i dont usually play at 5/10, its more like 25 buyins, which is like 25000 hands. and i play very few hands these days.

I either want to make $15-20K including Rakeback (6PTBB/100 during last 50K hands @500 hands an hour) or move up to $400NL.

I want to outplay TAGs.

I want to decide if I should go to Grad school for music or law or something else.

assuming winrate of +$10/100 hands, 350 hands per hour and 100 hours, thats ~$3500

A little off topic but is it smart/dumb to be playing $1/2 NL multitabling with a $4300 bankroll?

Im a tournament player and Ive dabbled succesfully at $1/2 NL, not sure if Im at the right limit money wise.

I suppose I am.

moving from 1/2 to 2/4 with a good bankroll. If I make 6ptBB/100 * 400 hands/hour (4-5 tabling) = $96/hour, playing 30 hours a week, I should make ~$3000/week, so about $12000 in the month. Then do the same next month for 2/4 to 3/6, then the same the next month and so on.....10/20 in September!!!!!!!!

If I were you I'd be playing .5/1 until you get to 5500 or so though.

yea, gators, you're in good shape bankroll-wise as long as you can drop down when you're under 2500 or so. if you're playing fullring, especially, the variance there is low as hell.

Just had my first 5 digit month. Looking to repeat that, play 40k hands and play some more 3/6.

Also, play 1 donkament/wk bc I never play them and a big score would be kewl.

This is good to stay well rounded. Also a goal of mine to play once a week. I had a nice $5000 score in Feb. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Feels soooo good!

june goal = 10k at 400NL. I have a FT job and 2-3 table so getting enough hands in will be hard.

-Play no less than 50,000 hands per month
-Make at least 10 new notes from PT each week
-Read at least 1 book per month
-Make no less than 5 2+2 threads a week
-Absolutely no bitching in chat after a suckout
-Review and crop all saved hands after each session
-No reading IE, watching movies, or anything BUT focusing on tables while playing

I like the idea of playing one donkament a week. I used to play a lot, but stopped because it was frustrating as hell to play for 2 or 3 hours and then get nothing when my KK lost to somebody else's A8o when all the stacks were short and we got it in preflop.

If I only played one a week though, and mostly for fun (with an outside shot at big $$$) it would be pretty sweet.

So if a MSNLer were to play one tourney a week, which one would it be? one of the party supers, I assume?

Work on your tournmanet game, the same way you practise for cash. Don't play for the sake of a big score [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Goals:
- play 30K hands
- keep moving up, so I can play less and use my time elsewhere

Expectations:
I learned the hard way not to expect anything in Poker.
